I would have either bashed her with a shoe, or sucked her up with the vacuum.

I should have mentioned to the spider, how lucky she was to have been an intruder in my house instead of one of your homes.

She'd be dead at our house as well. I don't mind non-poisonous spiders, they can hang around, I don't even bother relocating them. Poisonous ones though - I always squish.

We often got redback spiders (which are from the same family as black widows) back home in Brisbane, and they'd be all over the place. I always killed them otherwise they'd just keep on breeding. YUCKO!!!!

Look at it!! EWWW!!!

Knowing Zissou's propensity to play with bugs--- that poor black widow would've been a goner. Non-poisonous bugs (except house centipedes ewwwwwwwwwwww) are left alone, but I'm not taking a chance on a black widow Eek!

Well, here's to you keeping that spidey outside where she belongs!

Awww I am glad you relocated the spider. I am a relocator and hubby is a smasher.

I got bitten by an Australian White Tail Spider - they leave nasty sores afterwards - my arm was pretty infected for a good while but it healed well. I still have something hard inside my arm as a result though. It is donut shaped and I am not sure what it is.
It doesn't hurt so I don't bother with it.

When I was a child I had a spider bite so bad, that I ended up going to the hospital. I'm too scared of them to kill them to be honest. My mother told me that she went through my bedding and found a black widow in it my sheets.

I'd be too scared to relocate the spider, and too scared to kill it. I'd just have to move.

OMG House centipedes are DISGUSTING! I get them here.. I see one about every couple of weeks or so
Trout eats them and leaves their legs behind...so I know she hunts them at night

Thank you for relocating her. She cannot help what she is, but we, as the "more evolved" species can determine our actions

My mom was bitten by a spider badly as a child and feared them. Over the years we learned about them together and now she is a relocator. She was one of those people who would see a teensy spider and swear it was a nuclear-mutated 10 foot wide specimen. She is still quite the dramatist, just not with spiders.

Two of my neices started out screaming when they saw them, probably because that's what they saw other girls do. I only took that for about two seconds. They know lots about spiders now (and other critters) and relocate. None of that girly screaming thing happening around me. If it is an authentic fear, that's one thing. To do it just to kill because of ignorance, that is quite another.

We're all in this life together. It is only polite to share

I think shes pretty! I dont mind spiders as long as they dont get on me. Even then I just put them in a cup and take them outside. Im not scared of spiders but I flipped out over a moth.

This reminds of of something. While I am here being all holier-than-thou about spiders, I had a very deep fear of moths as a child. I still don't know why. It started when we lived in Huron, South Dakota. We called moths "millers" for some reason. I remember being terrified of them in the stairwell. Never had nightmares but I was always on the lookout to avoid them. I overcame it, probably by realizing they are butterfly cousins or something. Even today, in certain moments if I see one I shiver for a second. Weird!

Pretty?!?!! Ewww!!! These things get to be huge and can cause some serious damage - particularly to pets, small children and the elderly. They are aggressive and will strike out if you accidentally put your finger too close to them (say picking up a chair and put your fingers under the chair to lift it, and happen to poke near one).

Nasty, horrible, ugly, creepy things....

They are so beautiful! I love spiders. We don't have spiders here that are dangerous to humans, but I'm sure I've told the story before about my encounter with a brown recluse that stowed away in my luggage. There I was chucking her under the chin and telling her how lovely she was. I definitely got lucky that day when she decided not to bite me. She crawled into the bathroom light a couple of days later and fried herself
