Well we are back from the Sydney Pet and Animal Expo Championship Show! Tatyana (my baby), Orion and Draco (Louise's babies) Did very well! Yippeeeeee!!!!!!

Just thought I would let you know I am so proud of Tatyana. She did very well at the cat show. This was a huge 9 ring show that ran for 3 days. She was in the kitten section and competed against 73 other kittens in one section and 46 in another. Out of 9 judges 5 of them placed her. She got the following -

Ring 1
TOP 5 (46 kittens) - Forth
TOP 10 (73 kittens) - Fifth

Ring 2
TOP 5 (46 kittens) - Fifth
TOP 10 (73 kittens) - Sixth

Ring 3
TOP 5 (46 kittens) - Second
TOP 10 (73 kittens) - Third

Ring 4
TOP 5 (46 kittens) - Third
TOP 10 (73 kittens) - Forth

Ring 6
TOP 5 (46 kittens) - Fifth
TOP 10 (73 kittens) - Sixth

I had one judge that didn't place her because she said Tatyana was too thin and needed more muscle (the other judges said she was a good weight and had a beautiful body) and 1 judge that also didn't place her because she said she was too stressed out and had something wrong with her eyes (all the others said she was fantastic to handle and a real joy and that her eyes were beautiful). So, I have learned very quickly that there are a few judges out there that don't know what they are talking about when it comes to this breed and also I won't be letting the judge that said she was stressed judge her again as she handles them very badly and is rough. I want showing to be a good experience for her not an unpleasant one.

There you go I have bored you LOL!

I have attached 2 piccies.

I forgot my camera at the hotel each time so you guys are lucky I only have 2 photos to share LOL!

She looked so pretty with her little sleeping bag and her toys. She spent most of the time curled up in her bed sleeping. Occasionally she would bat the mousie around or bother to look at people when they were at her cage but mostly snoozed. She ate well and seemed quite relaxed. I think she is a little star and my princess.

She is so beautiful...she looks great in the photos.

I can never get a picure of Nik looking so graceful. As soon as I get the camera out, he does the lying-on-his-back, legs-splayed, tongue-hanging-out, Aussie-slob-male look. Not very delicate!

Well done to you all

Congratulations to you both! She is so beautiful, and it looks like she is a camera hog.

Wow that was oodles and oodles of kitties! Kinda like being in kitty heaven.

We are so very proud of you both. And what a learning expierence. Did you happen to see the cattery by the name Skybank? That is where several of my kitties are from.

Wow Leslie mate! I am so proud of Tat! Isn't it stupid how one judge says one thing and another says something totally different. Like, what's with that??? LOL

Congrats mate!

Yeayyyy for Tatyana!!!!!!

It's interesting how there are good judges and then there are judges that have no idea what they are talking about. When I picked up Nakita, my breeder was hosting a cat show. She was mentioning that in the 5 years of showing cats, she can pick a bad judge the minute they start to handle her cats.

She showed me some of her placings, and it made no sense when the same judge gave remarks that made no sense to that particular breed.

In the end, you gained experience and Tat is learning the ropes!

LMAO

Patty I didn't see Skybank. But she could have been in another section and I didn't get much time to see the other judging! Sorry, nice kitties though!

Bren you are right she is a camera hog LOL!

So Tania Mate did we pick well?????

Heidi she is very spoilt (as Pete keeps telling me) LOL!

Thanks Cyber Aunty Ady

Thanks Debby

Thanks Kassy, it's true, there are some judges that just shouldn't be allowed to handle them!!!! Sad but true!!

Thanks again everyone for you kind comments! I have a few more pics that Louise (purringpanther)Took of Tatyana at the show! So glad Tatyana has Louise as an Aunty also lol! Otherwise she wouldn't get many photos at all!

This was Tat in her little pink sleeping bad that one of the other breeders makes! They are so cute! It was very cold in there with the A/C on and she was right under a vent and shivering so what else could a good mummy do?? LOL!

I think she was saying something like.......

"You want me to play with that???????" She was fast asleep just moments before and didn't seem too interested LOL!

Wow, guess I'd better catch up with the posts!
What a busy week it's been with recovering from the show, working, Lee getting his wisdom teeth out and then he dislocated his ankle...again! Poor Lee, he already injured it a couple of weeks ago and now it's gone again...so back on crutches for him.

We had a great time at the Sydney Expo and both Orion and Draco did very well. They both got a lot of good feedback about their general build, coats, eyes, head, ears etc. As expected Draco's coat is not quite there yet, but he's still so young and does not even have his double russian coat yet so that's ok. Orion was a little happier than he was at the last show, but still had some grumpy moments. It seemed to mostly be whenever it was time to be judged or if he saw other cats. He still managed to win Top Alter Cat and Supreme Exhibit in one of the rings though, so that was a great result! Orion has also earned enough challenge points to be awarded "Grand Champion" status now. Cool!

Anyway here's a run-down of how they both went in the 9 rings...

ORION

Ring 1 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed

Ring 2 (20 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed, Best in Group, First in Top Five, Second in Top Ten

Ring 3 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed

Ring 4 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed, Ninth in Top Ten

Ring 5 (20 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed, Best in Group, Best in Show, Supreme Exhibit, First in Top Five, First in Top Ten

Ring 6 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed

Ring 7 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed

Ring 8 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed, Third in Top Five, Fifth in Top Ten

Ring 9 (11 points earned)
Met his Challenge, Best in Breed

Total Points Earned This Show = 117
Plus 44 Points Already Earned in First Show = 44
TOTAL POINTS = 161
This will bring him to Grand Champion Level (120 points required)
The next level to achieve is Double Grand Champion (180 points required)

DRACO

Ring 1
Best in Section, Best in Breed

Ring 2
Best in Section, Best in Breed, Fourth in Top Five, Fifth in Top Ten

Ring 3
Best in Section, Best in Breed, Fifth in Top Five, Seventh in Top Ten

Ring 4
Best in Section, Best in Breed, Third in Top Five, Fourth in Top Ten

Ring 5
Best in Section, Best in Breed, Best in Group, First in Top Five, Second in Top Ten

Ring 6
Best in Section, Best in Breed, Tenth in Top Ten

Ring 7
Best in Section, Best in Breed, Tenth in Top Ten

Ring 8

Ring 9
