Last night, my cat, came rushing in, though my bedroom window, he was really out of breath, like he just run miles.

After a few hours, around, 2:30am, i noticed blood around my room.

The blood was my cats blood, and as it was too late to take him to the vets, and he just wanted to be left alown, as when i tried to look over him, to see if it was his blood, he was not happy with me.

It appears he has stood on something that has cut his foot open, as he wont put any weight on it.

Im searching like mad for a good vet, and the price. But im getting knowwhere doing 3 things at once. (the other thing is he is looking after the kittens).

What i want to know, im doing the right thing taking him to a vet, but, finding one can be hard.

I dont know if he has had his injections, would that help? If it would, then i will need to contact my sisters friend, who gave us him and said dont get him injected (we thought that they already done it, but not sure)

He is limping on the leg, and wont put it down, but will pin down the kittens to clean them... is it really that painful?

If you can tell me what vet sounds good, and the price, while ill try and keep an close eye on the 3 cats, then it will be great.

also, there is no way i can get him there, till 2morrow.

If it is bleeding, I would try to clean it and wrap it in some gauze / light bandage until you can get to the vet. I would also see if you can get an emergency appointment today, it could get infected if not treated.

As far as the shots, the vet may recommend them, especially as the cat is outdoors, but you can always discuss the situation with the vet and make a decision from there.

The first of your links has a price list for vaccinations / shots etc. That will give you an idea of the costs (they wont be identical everywhere) but with such short notice you won't be able to check out a vet before taking your cat there.

Where possible, I choose a cat only vet as my cats seem to do much better there, without the smell of dogs, birds etc adding to their fear.

Do you have a carrier to get him to the vet, they can get fairly scared and should be restrained while you travel there.

You could also try calling around to see if there is a vet school near by, they sometimes have clinics for minor things with the advanced students and are overseen by a vet, they may be able to deal with it or will tell you it is serious enough to go to a vet.

What about on the price of the foot?

Also, I dont have a basket, and he only goes out side, for about 1hour, or untill he finds something that he wont like, could be 15 mins.

My cat is scared of anything that he cant trust, he is even scared of the wind.

Even if he is not outside long, they can still pick up diseases they don't usually get if they are indoor only.

As far as the price, it really depends, it may need stitches, it may not. It may need meds but maybe not, only a vet could tell.

You could try PMing CarolPetunia, her kitty had a similar problem the other day and she could tell you what she paid. Another thing her vet told her to do is not use regular litter but to get the yesterdays news or something that won't get stuck in it. At a push you could try newspaper and paper towels etc. so that you are not getting anything stuck in it and risking more infection.

we already get the paper litter stuff, when we first got the cats, before anyone went in the litter trys, i put the litter stuff, through my foot, so we got the paper stuff, it seems to be oderless aswell.

He wont let me check his foot, even with treats, i cant wait till my mum or my sister get back, (both have cars)

I have also had cats all my life, but now im incharge of them, its completely different.

Both my cats are indoor cats. I do remember one time when they broke a vase or something, and Humble stepped in the mess. I took him to the vet, and they put salve on it. It didn't need stitches. If you could find the wound and look, it might help.

He wont let me near it, hes like the boss of me, lol

If he wants something, the wil get it, anyway it costs. And the same if he dont want something to happen, i cant look at his poor, as when i try he tucks it under him, and then i have to pick him up, and look at his poor, but he is very heavy for me to pick up.

He is a loverly cat, if he wants ham, from your rolls, he will climb up your leg, saying please give me..., and if you dont, he wil hide above the fridge, and do one of the following, wait til you open the fridge, and jump in, eats all he can, or he will wait till you get the ham or meat out, and jump of the fridge, and eat the ham/meat when you are looking in the fridge, or putting stuff back.

he is asleep atm

there is dry blood on his poor, but he wakes up if i try and look at it closely.

Dry blood, means its not bleeding now, which is a good sign right? also, im told that cats has something in them, when they clean, its like a disinfectant, is that ture?
