i gave them my cell phone number, so i won't have to be as concerned about staying offline. she was VERY vocal about her displeasure about being in the carrier, etc. right before we left, Chip, who had eaten the baby food, upchucked it, along with a small piece of soft blue plastic
have no idea where he got THAT! but he seems just fine otherwise.
it never rains but it pours! i told him i didn't need this right now!

ok, the vet just called. they did bloodwork, couldn't find anything really wrong
she's dehydrated, no surprise, so they're giving her subcutaneous fluids. they're also giving her an anti-diarrheal drug & an anti-nausea drug, both there & to take home. she'll be ready to pick up in about and hour and a half. the vet said if she still wasn't drinking by 10am tomorrow, to bring her back in & they'd keep her over the weekend & give her iv fluids/nutrition. so i'm gonna want drinking vibes after we get home, ok? if i don't see her drinking, i'll start squirting pedialyte down her - a weekend stay would be phenomenally expensive, i would guess! i also have a packet of Carnivore Care, a powder you mix with water for force feeding reluctant kitties.

they said possibly the food difference started it, & then it just became a vicious cycle. she had no fecal matter for them to test, & her colon is ulcerated from the diarrhea
i've got to learn not to change foods on her whatsoever, i guess. it wasn't a complete change, either, just a partial. the ferals will be dining well for a while, tho.

she ate some wet food [with fortiflora added!] and drank from one of the fountains... i think she's on the mend! haven't tried meds yet. i want to see if she holds the food down. if she does, i'm not giving the anti-nausea meds.

I am not surprised at the cost. When Humble went through something like this, I also squirted Gatorade down him. I am sending you my phone number if you want to talk. I am so glad it was nothing major! I sned hugs to sweet Cable and to the other angels.

Cable's doing well. took her anti-diarrheal pill just fine. kept down everything tonight, not that she ate much, but she's drinking, which is the most important thing. but now... Firefox has diarrhea! i gave her a 1/2 dose of Cable's meds, plus a syringe full of pedialyte, plus saw her drink some of her water. she's not eating like she was... i may syringe some formula down her before i go to bed tonight... which will be soon, since i got about 3 hours sleep last night! so pray for them both, please! thanks for all the prayers so far - they're working, guys!

Poor Meowmy Laureen! Two sick babies?
Hope they are both doing better soon.

And I hope you got some sleep.
