Small thing here -- not a big deal, but I was curious. My cat has what appears to be a scab on his "thumb," the pink pad that protrudes out of the upper arm above the paw. I figure he either scraped it or injured it in a fight... it looks kind of blackish, and when I washed it with water it looked a bit like a broken blister or a skinned scrape. I put some antibiotic on it, but it's been about a month and it's still there.

I guess my question is whether any of you have experience with cuts on the paw pads or thumb, and how long it took to heal. My instinct is that this area would be slow to heal, like a person's heel or palm.

I'm no expert, but a month seems like a long time for something to heal. I'd at least call my vet and ask about it rather than just keep waiting to see what happens.
