My family came over to have an early birthday party for me since I won't be seeing them on my actual birthday. I received some wonderful flowers and yummy chocolate cake:

My mom gave me this very cute garden statue. I thought many of you might find it cute as well!

And here she is in my garden. I think she fits in purrfectly.

Rob also gave me a Canon Digital Rebel (
)which I have been having fun with as well. I took a pic of this bee at the cottage last weekend then played around to give it a painted look:

And a pic of Rob peeking through the blinds:

I've been a very lucky birthday girl this year! Unfortunately, I'm also another year older....

Your garden girl looks lovely, so do your hostas, how do you keep the slugs away?

The photos are as wonderful as always

I don't do anything and in the last 5 years we only had problems with slugs last year. I know they say to not water them at night since that encourages the slugs. Here's a site with suggestions (Preventing Slugs).....I'm useless in the garden but the hostas really do well.

I would have saved you a piece but not sure the mail system would keep it edible.
Oh, the cake was so gooood - double chocolate with a raspberry drizzle. I'm sure it added 10 pounds....but who cares when it's that yummy.

Wonderful gifts Kass, especially the precious garden statue.

Happy birthday Kass. Hope it was just as wonderful as your gifts.

You've been well and truly spoiled -- not that you don't deserve it.
Your little statue is very sweet, and the pics are wonderful as always.

Thanks for the early birthday wishes, everyone. I'm not much for birthday celebrations, but I'd do it again for that cake.

I'm loving that little statue in my garden. It was raining today and I saw a squirrel taking shelter under the tree beside the statue. I didn't get a chance to take a pic, but it was so cute!

What a cute statue!!!!!!!!! I love it!

And that chocolate cake.... I could go for a piece of that right now!

And of course, we're loving your birthday present from Rob.

Remember Kass, on birthday's you're not celebrating another year gone by but the day you came into existence - and that's something to celebrate!
