Oh honey, thoughts and prayers are with you and Papa. Don't freak out yet. I know it's scary but until they find out what is wrong, if anything, don't start thinking that way. Hopefully, it's nothing but old scar tissue, but even if it is something, that doesn't mean it can't be fixed. Lots of
coming your way.

Thank you all so much again for your prayers and vibes!

I'm not sure what time his appointment is today and I can't get in touch with anyone right now, so I'm just waiting. I'm so anxious this morning I can't hardly stand it.

UPDATE:

The doctor said that there is definitely something there, but he can't tell what yet.
So he's going in for more tests and I think a biopsy on Wednesday to find out more.

The doc said it could be tuberculosis since Papa was exposed when he was young, and that aside from scar tissue that would be our best option.

Please keep praying, its going to be a long weekend for me.

Papa saw a lung specialist today and he said that "it" is most definitely either cancer or an infection.

He goes in Monday at 1:00 to have a biopsy done. They said that the biopsy is dangerous, plus my Papa has only been under anesthesia once when he was much younger, and they almost didn't get him to wake back up.

I'm really really scared now. I appreciate all of the prayers and vibes so much, please keep them coming.

Okay, hang in there -- it's good that they know he has trouble with anesthetic, because they'll be extra-special careful, give him the very best anesthesiologist they've got, the works.

You may feel better about it if you and the rest of the family meet with the anesthesiologist yourselves right before the procedure... I always do that with my folks. I like making sure the surgical team knows just how important this patient is!

And there are many, many newer and safer anesthetics now than there were when your grandpa was young! So don't worry too much about that part.

As for the other... amazing things can be done these days. Keep envisioning your Papa in good health again, living for many more years... I believe that kind of positive imagery can really have an influence.

Hoping the very best for him!

Thank you all so much!!

Carol, thanks so much! You made me feel a whole lot better. I've been telling myself those things all day, but hearing them from someone else really helps.

It bugs me that the doc told them today that it was definitely cancer or infection just by looking at the scan. I don't think he should have made a conclusion before the biopsy.
I desperately hope he's wrong.
