I just washed my floors yesterday..and I keep finding these little piles of salt on the floor Actually, not sure if they are salt or sugar but I'm not about to taste it..

Anyway, I haven't used any salt OR sugar since yesterday, and I literally washed the floors last night

What the heck could it be from? I am freaked out..is someone making use of my kitchen? Eeep!

Thant is weird! Could it be residue from the cleaner??
Is it residue from the floor soap you're using?

Is it possible you have ants that are hooked on a drug variety?

Its not floor soap residue, I have always used the same stuff...just swiffer sweeper...

I don't have ants that are on drugs either

Ok, my last thought...maybe it's something you're bringing in the house on the bottom of your shoes?? Either that or you have sugar fairies!

Okay, I made some pasta the night I washed the floor..after I washed it..All I can think of is when I was salting the boiling water, I may had an invisible salt throwing fit or something?

Anyway, thats the ONLY salt I have used...so it must have been that..

Very strange though, I really don't make a point of violently shaking the salt over the pot There was alot of salt on the floor too..not just a few grains.

I vote for the sugar fairy scenario too! That or you have gnomes sprinkling weird things on your floor so they can trip you then take over!:muhahahahahahhahaha!!!! Or when all else fails...ummm maybe it was Trout?
ghost cats messing with your salt to play games with you

Yep blame the gnomes, it is gnome season again after all

What is your floor made of? If it's one of those pretty finished-cement floors, or maybe certain kinds of semi-porous tile, it could be that the cleaner caused actual salt to leach up out of the surface.

Our garage floor is the standard cement, and it regularly develops salty crusts in the areas where moisture occurs... because of residual salt in the cement mix.

It definitely could be gnomes.

But my guess would be maybe a salt shaker on the counter or table that has now become a cat toy?

In my house anything that hits the floor is fair game. And Chester is a lot faster than I am. More often than not the item will end up under something never to be seen again.

That is what I am thinking - a chemical reaction happened there - what kind of floor and what kind of cleanser are you using?
