Hi, I feel like this is such a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it because I'm concerned. The runt of my Mixi's litter has a really silky appearing coat, it seems almost greasy, although not. All of the other kittens look like little puff balls, except her. She's definately smaller than the rest of them, and maybe it just seems like such a bigger difference because their hair puffs out as hers lays flat.

Should I be worried about parasites or that there's something seriously wrong? It just doesn't seem normal to me as the others are all so fluffy and little Vela is not. Is Mixi, possibly not cleaning her enough?

Any and all responses are welcomed!!!!!!

I just thought I'd update this because little Vela is seemingly longer-haired than the rest of her siblings. She's got very thick and silky fur and she *appears* more robust than the others however her features are similar sizes.

She has the most gorgeous fur for only 16 days old!!!!! I can't stop touching it.

6 years ago I had a stray that gave birth to 4 kittens. One of the kittens had a shiny/silky coat compared to the other 3. That kitten ended up being the only longhaired in the litter (and I kept her). So I am thinking a longhaired and the others are shorthaired.

Vela is a tortie just like her sister, except her sister doesn't look like her.

It's really neat watching the red come in! I'll have to post pictures soon!
