My female cat has dried up skin that peels off her nipples if i try to peel it off... they are flakey! anyone know what this could be? they do not seem to be causing her any pain, she is fed quality food both dry and wet as well as grizzly salmon oil.

This happened with my cat a few years ago and it FREAKED me out.
Two of her nipples dried up and became crusty and when i picked at them a little, they CAME OFF!!! She didn't even notice! I was terrified but when she had her check-up everything was fine. The vet brushed off my question about it seeming a little confused but told me she was in good health (besides being overweight).
Every once in a while I'll go back and look at her nipples to see what's going on and they're flaky but don't seem to hurt or be causing any issues.
