Hi - My cat was pregnant recently and had the flu. Now, a couple of days ago, she gave birth to her kittens. One of them has already died, and the other two are crying a lot. They seem sick. Is there anything I can do?

Another cat of mine is pregnant and she's also been sneezing. I had taken both cats to the Vet about a month ago (before realizing they were pregnant) for the flu, and we got some meds for them but for some reason, they are still sick.

Does anyone have any experience with this? What should I do?

sorry i dont know how to help , but i would get them back to the vets asap. i know you said they have already been treated but if it hasnt helped then they need to be seen again as it can be fatel if left , the kittens dying is propley due to the medaction they was given while pregnant and on top of that they 2 propley have the flu aswell. please take them back to the vets before you lose all the kittens and the mums aswell.
im so sorry that you have lost one of the kittens , i hope that they all make a full recovery. keep us updated please.

I would call the Vet asap. I dont want to scare you but I think or feel and it is just me that something is wrong please do that please a call is free
I think they might need to be seen. Even if money is tight explain it to them they might be able to help.

That's what I was thinking, but hessitating since I've gone to the Vet so many times this year already! But with kittens, I guess its worth it. I'll go today and see what they tell me.

Helga, Kittens with sick moms fall into a high risk category. I learned this the hard way, fostering a sick pregnant girl. Your instincts are correct, they need vet care. I actually ended up leaving the whole group with the vet, I was not able to care for them. I know how hard it is, I am sorry you are going thru this. The worst thing about fostering is sick kittens that don't make it. Sometimes, tho, they pull thru, see what the vet says. Are you working with a shelter, or are they your cats?
