We have to start feeding Addie some new food. She'll need kitten food, because she's still little, but also because we need her to gain some weight ASAP. She's too light and it caused complications when they tried to do her spay surgery today. You can read the full story here

Anyway, we're not sure what to feed her to really get some fat on those bones. Does anyone have any suggestions? We want both a dry food that she can graze on and a wet food.

Also, what about something like milk or cream? I'm wondering if the caloric benefits would be outweighed by the fact that it's so filling....like, would she eat less and therefore end up worse off if we gave her milk. Also, is she too old to digest it at 8 months?

Thanks for any help!

My vet has put Ellie on Royal Canin convalescent food, with RC dry kitten food, to fatten her up. SHe also has a liquid nutrient to give by syringe each day. I also let her have goat milk with a beaten egg yolk every other day. She is now putting on a bit of weight, after two weeks I cant actually see her spine any more.

Hi

When Humphrey first came to me he was extremely skinny, although he does have siamese in him and they tend to be slinkier. I actualy bought him kitten milk and it really did help.

He now a perfect boy!
