You think baldness can occur on this diet?
Lucky has bald patches on his feet. It started just after the food change. I thought the arrival of Benson a month after the food was the cause but maybe I am off on the timing.

Mine are on the indoor formula and two are pretty darn skinny so I am getting ready to put them on regular nutro. They love this food better than any other dry I had them on so Nutro is it for these four.

Whoa, my cat has had colitis for two months, since I switched him from the Nutro Natural Choice Indoor to the Nutro Natural Choice Indoor Weight Management. We've been looking for every possible solution, and Flagyl was given but didn't help. I was starting to suspect the Weight Management food; but I had studied the ingredients and they looked so similar to the regular food, I doubted whether it could be the cause. I also noticed that the Weight Management pieces were much harder, and thought maybe that was it... that the hard bits were irritating his digestive system.

It sounds like you guys may have solved my problem.

He doesn't exhibit any other symptoms of a food allergy, though. No scratching, etc.

From what you know, would it be all right to switch him back to the non-weight management Nutro Indoor? I'm a bit confused, since the regular Indoor also contains the soy concentrate, and he was regular and colitis-free on the regular Indoor.

Also, the Weight Management food made him go from slightly overweight back to a perfect weight. Maybe I could try the Nutro Max Cat Lite instead. If I know that soy is the problem, I can just look for that and avoid it.

D'oh. Right. I wonder whether the regular Natural Choice Weight Management pieces are as hard... easy enough to feel them through the bag, I guess.

First I think I'm going to put him on Natural Balance Venison & Peas Allergy food for a few weeks or so to make sure this is a diet-related problem.

It is looking like the Nutro Natural Choice Indoor Weight Management dry food isn't the cause of my cat's symptoms. The switch to an allergy diet has made no impression after three weeks, so this may be something more serious. He's probably going to have a colonoscopy.

Just wanted to put that down in case others read this thread in the future.

I recently just took both of my cats off of Nutro! I wanted to try the Wellness line! My cats loved Nutro!!!! I had my overweight cat on Nutro Natural Choice Weight Management Indoor Formula and he adored the big crunchy pieces! Did he loose weight? NO... He is quite active and limited to portioned meals and no results! Am I bitter? No he is only 3 pounds overweight! I had my kitten on Nutro Max Cat Kitten and recently switched her to Wellness! I am going for a wet/dry food combination right now (hopefully in the future a wet food only) therefor I've been playing around with my options! As for the hairball formula Im unfamiliar... my cats almost never have hairball issues! I dont see any major issues with the line but I wanted something of better quality (personal preference and opinion)! Best of Luck! Now my overweight bugger is on Wellness Healthy Weight dry (he wont touch wet food) and he is having a hard transition since Nutro pieces are huge and Wellness pieces are teeny tiny!

Seriously he doesnt know how to eat the Wellness! I had no idea the pieces were so small! When he tries to chew the tiny chunks it falls out of his mouth and so sometimes he swallows em! Their small like birth control pills hehe! My poor fatty and the torture his mom is putting him through! When I got him (my bf's cat for years) his parents had been feeding him purina and I didnt like that so I switched him to Nutro... That was a funny transition too since Purina pieces are small he had a hard time adjusting to Nutro! Ahhh the frustration!

I know my tiger loved his Nutro but it isnt doing anything for him (weight wise) so I decided to experiment with something else... My kitten actually loved eating the Nutro Weight Management more then her Nutro kitten! I was shocked that she could handle such hearty and big pieces of food... What a champ!

They always want what they can't have, don't they? I wonder if I purposely put the wrong food in front of each cat, if they would all eat what was intended for them.

LOL! Very true! I have some Nutro food left and when I went to fill Tiger's bowl I put all Wellness in it and a few chunks of Nutro! He looked at me as if he had been jipped! If you want to eat buddy, you eat what mommy supplies! Its like trying to get a kid to eat their vegetables!

LOL. My cats eat anything I give them..They love the nutro indoor formula but I gave them a little sample of chicken soup and they loved it too!!!

Plus I can't leave any chocolate pies or corn muffins in the kitchen unless I watch it close.

Tiger sounds really cute.

I have two male cats both around a year old. These are my first fur babies! I made a chocolate pie and went to check on it and their were a few bites missing out of it...YIKES! And then on another occasion I found Kilowatt taking a bite of a corn muffin on the kitchen counter...so now I don't leave any food out unattended at all. And I do the dishes really quick. LOL.

They can only have thier Nutro and Cat treats!
