I have a sweet little 8 month gray stray kitty, and she absolutely loves me and most everyone else whom she meets. But she was thought to be a guy kitty, until just the other day an unkown black stray started going after her. He would corner her and get all over her, with her always fighting to get away until I saved her. But today when I went outside I didn't see her, so I called her. She immediately came running, with the tom on her heels. She came quite close to me but then the tom got in front, just about a foot away from me, and hissed and growled- and seriously almost pounced and attacked me. My screaming and my friend's hissing got him to run- but he chased little gray away, too. So for hours we tried to find her, tried to get him away from her, tried to not be attacked by him, and then tried to find her when he was finally gone. The poor thing was terrified- she hid under rocks and would not come near with any cooing, comforting, baiting or whatnot. Anything coming near sent her off again. And under a nearby rock, we found an apparently freshly dead cat...I've know idea what's going on, but I want that stalker kitty gone and want my precious girl back. Any thoughts?

Is the 8 month old girl spayed?

What you described sounds like mating behavior.

I'm not sure what to advise, but if you can get the grey kitty back in your good graces, you will probably need to bring her inside, at least temporarily - to keep her safe.

Yeah, I think that is the best thing to do too

I agree. This is mating behavior on the male cat's part. Your little girl apparently wasn't ready for that. It would be best if you could get her inside and then to a vet for a checkup and spaying. The male will hang around as long as he thinks she is receptive to his advances. Good luck. Hugs to you and {{{come inside}}} vibes to kitty.

If you don't know who owns the black cat, get that cat fixed as well. Or, if you know who his owner is, talk to his owner and try talking them into getting the cat fixed or if you can afford it, tell them you will fix the cat for them if they are unwilling.

Yes I completely agree. At least be responsible and get the cat you consider to be "yours" spayed. If you cannot perminently take her in forever then just do it temporarily until you can spay her. She would probably be grateful if you saved her from the mean old aggressive tomcats who are after her trying to get her pregnant.

There are also low cost clinics all over the place so tell us where you live and we can help you find one!

im sure the animal control doesnt want stray kittens all over the place, they might come and pick up that male cat.

If your cat isn't spayed then I would do so, I'd also keep her inside til you can find out more about the unknown black stray

Have you reported the dead cat to pest control?
