Today is Paczki (pronounced Poonk-chee) Day here in "The D".

I don't eat them anymore, well maybe a *little* piece. For those that never had them, they are basically the deepest fried donut possible. Paczkis are of Polish origin (really only one true place to get them around here: Hamtrack), have about 420 calories and 26 grams of fat. They are very similar to Jelly-filled/Custard-filled donuts.

Mmm...I like holidays with food

I don't know how it is in OH, but I was hearing reports last night about people lining up for them outside the Polish bakeries.

Go grab one at lunch!!! I'm sure the rush will have died down by then.

DH bought some of those a couple of years ago when they had them in the grocery store - not that great, but he loved them. He's a doughnutaholic though! Probably much better from a bakery!

The local grocery store has them but the best place is a polish bakery about 25 minutes away!! (maybe they are buying them from that place??)

I'm surprised that the owner's middle son didn't bring any in. He's usually all over that stuff.

Maybe his wife stuck him on a diet
