That is too funny SwampWitch. This was taken immediately after that yawn. He's got a strange look on his face....he does not normally look like this.....

You know I actually spent some time one day "yawning" at Stumpy trying to make her yawn so I could get photos. It worked and I got a bunch!

I know! She's such a little goofball too!

When I first met her and was filling out the paperwork to adopt her (i wasn't sure if she was a male or female for a moment there) and we were going to name her "Salem" after the kitty on that show had she been a boy (i used to love that show

) but as it turns out she was a gorgeous girlie and the song "Black Velvet" came on the radio the day we took her home- and Velvet was just the perfect name

Don't you just love the little inner mouth markings that kitties have on the roofs of their mouths? Kind of like secret beauty marks.

It doesn't seem to bother him too much but it's funny to watch him groom cuz every few minutes he'll stop and push the fur out of his mouth. I always hear this "ack" sound in my head when he does it. LOL

Java has one of those! but i think she's the only one. i thought it was a tortie/calico thing!
