Rereading my story on Fictionpress so I can remember what happened and write what will come next...
Sounds silly, doesn't it.

I joined a book club last month and just came home from the second meeting. So far I have read:

The Birth House - Very good book, set in old time Nova Scotia. A girl is born to a family where a girl has not been born in 5 generations. She grows up through trials and tribulations to become the midwife and herbal healer for the area.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan - Set in 19th century China. As a young girl, Lily is matched with her laotung, or lifelong same-sex partner, Snow Flower, and corresponds with her throughout her life by means of a secret written language inked in the folds of a paper fan. Both have their feet bound at age 7 as per custom and both are married out into different circumstances. Very, very good book.

Perfume - Boy born in 18th century Paris with no scent of his own, but can distinguish thousands of smells. Learns the art of perfuming and becomes a murderer to capture the scent of young women. I can't put this one down.

We Need to Talk About Kevin - Woman recounts through letters written to her ex-husband the circumstances leading up to, and following the fatal school shooting spree her son executes. Tough to read, but definitely worth it.

Everville - Crazy book by Clive Barker, sequel to The Great and Secret Show. Chilling and vivid.

The Kiterunner - Young boy in Afghanistan betrays his best friend and servant, moves to America, and then must return to make things right. Powerful and moving. I cried.

I've read just about every Forgotton Realms novel written and the Dark Elf Trilogy is by far my favorite. I've read it and the Icewind Dale Trilogy an untold number of times. I just wish you'd read the Dark Elf Trilogy first so you'd have a much better understanding of Drizzt's character.

Depending on how well you recall details, it may be worth re-reading the Icewind Dale Trilogy after you read the Dark Elf Trilogy. A lot of how Drizzt behaves will make much more sense.

Thanks for the advice! I had a hard time determining which one would be better to start with! I went based on the reviews on amazon that Icewind dale was a better one to start with.
I may have to reread it after reading the Dark Elf Trilogy which I do have on my desk right now. I have been a big fan of dragonlance for so long that I decided to try Forgotten Realms. All the old PC games like Pool Of Radiance, Curse of the Azure bonds, etc....I have always enjoyed, but never got to read the books.
Do you have any suggestions of what I should read after the dark Elf trilogy??
