I miss the Young Ones - but I saw the dvds out. I also LOVED the Goodies - I used to pretend that I couldn't sleep when I was a kid so that I could stay up and watch the Goodies
I will have to buy the dvd series!

There was a christmas special where a guy came into the village and was as mad as her, and they ended up getting married, but she ended up having to marry in her pyjamas because the bridal car went through a puddle which ruined her wedding dress

Monty Python is a hoot! Never heard of How Clean Is Your House. Is it a comedy or a home improvement show?

Oh - and speaking of other types of shows, does anyone remember the cooking show Two Fat Ladies? What a scream!

The channel I watch the most is BBC America. I am such an Angliophile! I love British television, books, you name it. Okay, maybe not vegemite.
I have a British DIL and adore her. Life is good.

I love all the shows mentioned and also As Time Goes By with Judi Dench.
Oh, and truth be known...Footballers Wives, not exactly a comedy.

I love Monty Python. I've also seen some episodes of Red Dwarf and it was hilarious. I'll need to see more.

I don't know if it counts as a sitcom, but one of the funniest thing I ever saw was the old BBC mini-series of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Hyacinth and the staff of Grace Brothers are popular here, too.

My number one fav is one that had Hyacinth climbing over brick walls and through back yards and such. I can't recall what or who she was trying to escape...but she was wonderful! And always in her heals (pumps?) and with a lovely hat on!

The other one was where they sold (or were selling) their home to buy a smaller apartment type of home. It was sooo tiny. I remember she & Richard got stuck together face to face in the kitchen area and she just wasn't comfortable being that close.... It was hilarious!

She was wanting a another place and had to have an apartment in that castle!

Bro-in-law wants to name their next cat Pussy. He wants to be able to stand on his back deck and yell "Where's my pussy!". (The residents of the golf community behind them will appreciate that.

The last episode I remember, she seemed to be getting close to the Squire! Shows how much we got.

Not a comedy exactly, but I also love All Creatures Great And Small.

Yes, she wanted a country home - and the only place that would satisfy her was in that castle!

Watching the robins sing!
I always enjoyed Are You Being Served? and Keeping Up Apprearances - but I have lost track of which cable channel to find them on. I also loved Lovejoy - not quite a comedy but I never missed an episode!

My favorite is Keeping Up Appearances. I just love Onslow and Daisy played by Judy Cornwell and Geoffrey Hughes. Patricia Routledge is such a wonderful actress. Mind the wallpaper. The lady that played Rose died a few years ago from cancer.

I also like As Time Goes By. Geoffrey Palmer who plays Lionel has such a dry sense of humor.

I also just started watching the Vicar of Dibley which is really funny.

And of course Are You Being Served? I just love John Innman.

Wow, I had no idea Rose had passed. Everyone on that show is just so talented! Onslow and Daisy are great too!

I love both of those british comedies! They sure get me laughing. Sometimes I get tired of the same type of humour in the US that it's nice to watch something different for a change. I always feel sorry for poor Richard!
