Actually if you go to your OFFLINE list on your messenger- right click, and theres an option for you to Block Contact

I'd send him an email telling him that your blocking him so you don't get any more viruses from his computer!

I use AVG and it's caught a few viruses that came in through emails. I have stopped using links on emails anymore, and have told anyone that is sending me stuff via email to not do it as files (pictures have come in infected before where they re part of some of these joke emails). Anyway, I also have two different spyware and adware scanners and pop-up blockers. I also run a full virus scan on a regular basis! Also, AOL which I use has a feature for reporting spam emails! I notice once I report a source once, I never get another email from the same source, which is great!

I just tried spybot last night and it caught a whole wack of things..My next move is going to be adaware if I get anything else. I think my puter just did a scan and nothing came up this morning, so thats good. I am trying not to sign into MSN until the dust settles..maybe that will help.

AVG is good for spyware, but these 2 viruses I just got, it didn't stop them..so I dunno about that. It does a virus scan every morning!

Hmmmmm, maybe I can call him and tell him to delete me?? That would work eh? I work with his sister, so it could be done...

Maybe just send him an email telling him whats going on, and tell him to block you or something, or delete you off his list- he should understand if his computer is sending out viruses!

It may not have stopped them coming in, but sometimes they "sneak" in really fast! It did however, catch them and identify them! You can also upgrade AVG to a more extensive version but it costs - not sure how much. I have spybot too plus the AOL stuff that comes with the internet service, which is quite a bit.

My scan this morning came up fine..I am going to try one tonight after dinner too. I haven't noticed anything unusual on the puter today..so I hope thats a good sign.

Thats ok, my virus scanner picked it up anyway and no one got weird IMs from me (apart from the freaked out 'don't click on anything I send you' messages I sent myself
)

Hope your computer is ok too!

Keep in mind to let me know if I send you anything else weird. I am not even signing into MSN today, so unless it signs itself in again(in which cas I would know I still have a problem)..you shouldn't be getting anything from me..

If you open up MSN Messenger and click on "Tools" and "Options" you should have a list of people showing. Readd him and then delete him again but this time check "Block".

If you don't see his name there, then go to your hotmail and look for your contacts there. For some reason MSN likes to add the MSN contacts to the hotmail contacts. I found a whole slue of names there from years and years ago. Do the same thing. Readd him to Messenger and then immediately delete him but check "Block".

Or if you have an older version of Messenger, right click and "block" and then delete.

Alright well, my uncle is a computer guy so I asked him about this new homepage redirection thats been going on now..The VIRUSscan picks up nothing, but my homepage redirects to some weird page every now and again.

He said its not a virus, its a hi-jacker..and apparently they are a pain to get rid of

So I am calling him tonight so he can walk me through how to get rid of it..

FRICK!
