Hello! My older boy cat sometimes gets on top of my kitten and humps him and bites his ear. My little cat lets him. He also tries to do this to my arm sometimes. I'm assuming this is something that has to do with him being in heat?
Males do not experience a heat cycle, if they are unneutered they are always 'on'.
I think however that what you are seeing is a dominance display rather than sexual in nature.
It's perfectly normal for cats of any gender to show dominance in this way.
Yes males do not go into heat, only females do. Is your older male not neutered? He really should be before he gets all sort of cancers and problems due to not being neutered. It will make him happier and live longer!
As for him doing this to the younger kitten, since the kitten is male it is just dominence, if the kitten were female then you would have some problems there.
It's definitely a dominance thing - when my three younger boys were 'growing up' they went through a stage of 'getting friendly' with all sorts of random things - the favourites were my boots and the draught excluder which lies across the bottom of the kitchen door and is in the shape of a long black and white cat!!!
The day I caught Ben pinning Paddy to the floor, though, was the day they all went to the vets!!!
Funny though - 12 months later, and they are all 'done' - but Ben is still the boss!!
