What a precious girl!
She looks so happy; seeing those pics of her brings a huge smile to my face!! Bless you for all that you're doing for her.
It's so comforting to know that amongst all the evil in the world, there are caring people out there.

I do hope that your grandparents take her, at least you will know she would be loved and taken care of. Bea deserves that.

Well my Grandparents ended up having stuff going on all this weekend, but are supposed to be coming up for dinner either tomorrow night or Tuesday.

Not so much to report other than that really.

We have had a setback though. Friday morning, Bea fell on her leg.
She was running out the door for her morning walk, like she always does and just lost it. I didn't see how she landed, but she cried so much that my heart was just breaking.

I can't tell that she did any damage, the cast was on properly so I'm sure that she just bruised it up pretty badly. All weekend long, she's been resting more than usual and has taken an aversion to going out on her walks. Her pain meds are all gone and I don't have any refills. I'm thinking of calling the vet in the morning to see if theres anything OTC that I can safely give her to help with the pain. The perscription that she had made her so drowsy, I'd like to stay away from that if possible. We'll see what he says.

Its so heartbreaking. She was making such good progress, and now I almost feel like I'm back at step one.

Keep those prayers moving her way guys!

Ah jeeze, everything's been so crazy lately I've forgotten to update.

Bea recovered quickly from her fall. She rested around more for a couple of days but after that she was fine again. Right now she's rolling around in the floor with my dogs!

Shes putting more and more pressure on that leg and has even started jumping around some! I try to keep her slowed down so she doesn't fall again, but thats easier said than done.

My grandmother is in love with her, my Papa hasn't gotten over to see her yet. He just retired from driving truck last week and has been very busy getting everything lined out. He'll be up to see her soon though.

All in all she's doing great, seems to be feeling fine and getting very very spunky!

Thanks again for all of the continued vibes and prayers!

In Steelers Country!
I'm glad that she recoved so well from her fall.
If Grandma is in love, my money is on her being able to talk Grandpa into taking Bea home!

Thanks so much for the update. Glad to hear she is doing so well, and that she isn't having any problems from the fall. Keeping fingers crossed that your grandpa falls for her too.

Sorry, I haven't taken any more pics lately, I've been so busy with everything else. When I get back in town next week I'll post some more!

A tiny update:

We found out the hard way today that Miss Bea is scared of thunderstorms.
She stays in the spare bedroom when we leave the house b/c I don't trust leaving her out with Madden unsupervised. Well today we went out for donuts and a thunderstorm passed overhead while we were gone. We came home and let Miss Bea out of her room to find the carpet torn up in front of the door, and the whole bottom of the door turned into toothpicks.
So we learned a lesson...she'll stay in the kennel when we leave if there is a chance of storms.
And I guess we'll put up a new door and replace the carpet after she leaves.

Oh well...its a labor of love.

Poor Bea! She must have been terrified. One of my mom's dogs freaks out at thunderstorms, so he has his "cave" to hide in. It's an extra large dog carrier without the door, with a big pillow inside and a throw blanket over the carrier to keep it nice and dark and cosy inside.

Great to know shes better but now you have a major responsabity on your shoulders. You need to either keep her or find a good home for her dont let her run loose anymore ever again!!! Whem I first read about this thread I thought you lived in the country, people who live there, I've heard not only do this but also lots of other horrible things to dogs/cats. http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/ima.../angryfire.gif.

My hypophesis for this stupidity, is that people who live in small farm/rutal contry settings have so much nature/animal life around them that they think nothing of doing these kinds of horrble things to boost their sense of power, ego, ect. Whereas people who live in cities are isolated from nature and so value animal life/nature better. Mankind has a long ugly history of killing and runining things to the last draw only then to change for the greater good once he reales his actions DO make a impresson Thankfully in cities it is getting better. http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/ima...s/rolleyes.gif
