Oh gosh - yesterday was such a tragic day for TCS - poor sweet Emily, RIP over Rainbow Bridge, and watch over your Meowmy who misses you so!

The name of the disease that the doctor thinks it is is hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The autopsy showed that her heart was enlarged, but all her other organs looked fine. The pathology report on her heart will tell us for sure. She was the same weight she was a year ago, so likely not sick in any other way.....there is no rhyme or reason for it, it is not secondary to anything. I feel SLIGHTLY better knowing that, knowing I didn't miss something and there was nothing I could have done to prevent it. Cubby is scheduled for an echocardiogram next Friday.

You have to remember also, that our feline friends are extremely good at hiding any problems. Be assured that you gave her everything she needed.

Poor sweetheart. I feel for you terribly. You can console yourself with the thought that she was happy and healthy all her life, and it was very quick for her, she did not have to suffer long. She will always be with you, and memories and love will remain forever.

I am still grieving...I have to harden myself many times throughout the day so I don't break down. It's night time that's the hardest because I am so aware that she's gone, because every night she slept on my pillow and purred. I told my mom (well I text her actually so I wouldn't cry while telling her and so I wouldn't have to hear something like "well you have 6 more", or "well now you have one less to worry about" which she has said similar in the past when I told her about Bob's diabetes (the words she used are actually "Oh. Do you want me to send him a card?") And about Cajun's kidney issues.
) She text back I'm so sorry....and that's it. I don't know how this woman could have given birth to me, I have no idea where my compassion and love for animals comes from because it's certainly not from her. I love my mom with all my heart but when it comes to this, we are two different people. I am being selfish and bitter in my grief right now and I'm sorry, but I just needed to vent. I know at least all of you understand.

Vent away to us. I know my dad is like that. All dogs & cats are meant to be outside. They don't need to see a vet. Cats are meant for target practice, etc. Just keep doing what you're doing for all your babies & forget that your mom doesn't understand. She will never know what she is missing....all the love & joy our furkids bring us!
