I lost both of my parents in a similar fashion. Hospice workers are wonderful. Don't be afraid to ask them for anything you need for your mother or yourself. They will usually accomodate anything you ask for, including places to sleep in the hospital so that you can be close by.

As horrible as it is, there is one positive thing about it, and I hope you are not offended by me saying it. Your mom has the chance to take care of some things and you have the chance to say goodbye. My mother just up and died one day for some reason that we will never know and was all alone. You can use the time you have left to make sure that the things you want to say and thay the things she may want to say to you get said. I surely hope that she goes with no suffering.
