I want to keep him...... Hubby said he wishes we could... hmmm.....

New pictures are being uploaded now... And he will not leave unless it's to a home. Shelter is already out of the picture... Charlies deserves better than that.

Stand by for pics. You'll love these.

Here we go......... I love these. The kitty is Snoopy. She has a twin too named Lilly.

I have him loose in the house right now. He is doing good. He is staying in the living room with me. He does not wander around. He is the sweetest little guy dog I have ever seen. Charlie and Emma play very well. She gives to him and plays very gentle and lets him win. They mouth each other and show teeth but it is mock fighting as any dog person will recognize. When they finished they took a nap side by side...

They played very very hard......... It was funny.

And here's Snoopy. She is sleeping on top of the crate.

This is going to be rough if he goes to another home. But at least he will have learned house manners and be a little more socialized with dogs and kitties...

I am still hoping that he chooses your home and I hope your husband chooses him. I know he is happy where is he is, and I just wanna tell you again how happy I am that you were the ones that found him, otherwise he might not be here right now.

Here's a few more pictures.......

The dogs heard some men working a few miles away. I heard them all barking and I opened the door. Sound carries out here so it probably wasn't close by. When I opened the door, they all ran indoors. But right after they came in, Charlie was scratching at the back door to go back outside.

He stood at the fence and listened and barked and guarded our yard.

Here is Charlie guarding. He was serious. Being a guard dog when you live way out is a definate plus in a dog.... I am a woman home alone alot and my dogs serve a purpose... They are not just pets. They are necessary because we don't own a gun.

And another playful picture too.

This is precious...... they are so tired from playing. Look at the sweet look on Charlie's face..... awww He nearly froze to death and it burns me up when I think about it. My husband keeps saying "How could somone dump poor charlie?" Poor little guy is finally warm. He will never have icicles on his belly again.

What a handsome little fellow that Charlie is!

I basically want to belt his previous owners about the mouth, and scream, "What were you thinking???"
People just don't get it sometimes. This is a living being with emotions, who has the need to be loved...not just a spare tire or garbage sack that you can dump on the side of a road. Ugh.

Whatever you choose, I pray that Charlie is headed for a better life with people who love and appreciate him. Of course...you already do...so...*hint hint*

Oh God look at that sweet little face.
How on earth could someone throw him out like he was trash?
There has to be a special place in hell for the people...if you can call them that....who dumped him.

I know for sure that there's a special place in Heaven for people like you and your Husband.
You both should feel so good about yourselves for saving his life, because that's what you did.

It all depends on my husband and HOW CHARLIE ENDS UP BEING AROUND THE CATS. I have to trust him.

So far, so good. There are a couple of cats however that absolutely don't like him. One is a cat that rarely comes in the house but since he knows Charlie is here, he comes in here to swat him... That cat is Felix.

This is Felix....... He was a semi-feral that I helped. He had an infected foot from a pad being ripped off when I found him and it took him months for me to be able to touch him. We have an enclosure for the cats with a kat door coming into the house but since we have Charlie, Felix comes in doors to specifially swat charlie. He has a lot of catatude..... He even slept inthe living room last night to watch the crate..

He might be part Corgi (and might help him find a home quicker than if he is a hound mix
). Here's my Cardigan Corgi (the black and white one- the other is his full sister
)- not a great pic, I'll see if I can find a better one, but look at the feet
(and black and white is a common Cardi color
):

Oh, our Corgi was the best dog I could ask for- smart and a quick learner, good with cats and kids- my MIL said he was her best behaved grandchild!
If I lived closer, I would be working on convincing my DH to go see him...

Those corgi's are soooooooo cute!! Oh lordy.. I love it. He might be part corgi. The legs look the same actually except charlie has short hair. The chest also sits low like Charlie. But I also think he is mixed with terrier. Charlie has a big head with a long face. It's hard to really see it in a picture but his head looks too large for his body. It is the head for a much larger dog or so it appears.

and Butter bean is very cute....... that's a great name!!

Charlie is very smart. He catches on quickly to things too.

I was looking at your dogs feet. charlie's feet turn out exactly like that. Does he look part corgi to you? He also has no tail. He was born that way. There is no nub there.

You know Gracie, I have four tuxedo cats. Husband can only tell them apart by how they act.

Socks is the only girl and she is always in the house and very loving.

Felix is the one above and he lets us pet him and spends most of his time in the enclosure but is also very honery..

Jimmy does not let us pet him and comes in the house every day to sleep and eat.

Festus never comes in the house but we want him too. We can pet him in the enclosure.

That's how my husband tells the difference...

Catsallover, if you are truely interested in Charlie, I would meet you halfway.. But you have to be sure. He is a precious little guy and I am already feeling a little sad thinking about it...... He needs a forever home. I'm not sure if that is with us yet or not.

I know my husband wants us to find him a good home. If you are serious, think about it but think really hard about it... If someone truely could provide charlie with all his little doggie needs I would do it. But it has to be a good home.

I would need to see pictures of your animals for one thing and where he would live and whether your animals are in/out or only out dogs. And if you were only joking, that is ok....

Charlie is good little dog. He is a strong dog. Not strong willed but strong in body. Stout. He has not had one single accident in the house or attempted to chew anything. He displays curiosity about everything. I am not sure he has ever been in a house. I suspect he was a tied up dog or chained. He goes easily in and out of the back door now but at first he was afraid of passing over the threshold.

I am just very caught up in charlie right now and in his future. It is a big responsibility and I take it seriously. I know I post all this pictures of him but his situation is sad. Right now he is safe and warm and he is trusting of us and he is learning our routine here. In just two day, his whole attitude of shyness is gone. I can tell he has been yelled at before because if I saw no, he cringes. So I have to be careful. He looks to me for approval and wants to be loved so much. He tries to please.

He might end up staying with us. If husband get attached, then that's all she wrote......

I can't rush into anything. I have to be sure whatever happens with charlie is in his best interest. If someone wants him, they have to convince me they are the person he was meant to be with. After having ice on his belly, he needs warmth and love for the rest of his life.

Sounds like Charlie knows where he wants to stay! God bless you for changing that little dog's life - I can't believe the difference already in his whole demeanour in the new photos, compared to the first ones you posted.

Felix looks just like my Cairo - they could be from the same litter. (have a look at the link in my siggy - it's bizarre!) And sounds like they have the same attitude, too! Although Cairo ended up falling head-over-heels with our GSDs - they were like little lovers, used to sleep together all entwined. So gorgeous, this big German Shepherd and little crabby Cairo.

Charlie's a beautiful boy and you've done a wonderful job. Can't wait to hear the next instalment!
