My Vacuum is possessed??

I was just vacuuming, and when I went to turn it off..it turned off...then sprang back to life in the OFF POSITION I tried turning it into the on position and then back into the off position..nothing , it stayed on. I had to unplug it for it to turn off.

It is a brand new vacuum, I have maybe used it 7 times

Sounds like the switch broke. Do you have a warranty?

Scarry!!! The evil vaccume comes to life!!!! Run far away Natalie!!!

Now if you could get the vacuum to vacuum the floor by itself, you're in business!

Also send part of the demon to me too...I would like a possessed vacuum.

YIKES!

Do you have a warranty? Sounds like there's a short in it or something?

Well I just bought it...I should check for a warranty..I wonder if I could just get another one from Canadian Tire?? Or do you think its been too long to exchange?

How long have you had it? I would check for a warranty and explain your situation to them! Espeically if you've only used it a handful of times.

when did you buy it? if you still have the recept, i would go for it.

maybe trout did something to it!

I wouldn't put it past her..she does hate the thing

I think I'd take it back and tell them what it's doing. That's scary. I mean it could catch on fire or something. They should honor your purchase even though you don't have a receipt, at least I'd think they would.

Take it back, Nat! Canadian Tire is usually pretty good about doing exchanges. Do you have your receipt?

For some reason Kaylee doesnt hate my vaccum, she even lets me vaccum her!

That is weird! I would definitely take it back to the shop, it may have a short - we wouldnt want you electrocuted!

OMG, you should talk to my husband about taking things back to Crappy. that guy buys and returns there on a weekly basis, I swear!
If it's less than 90 days, no problem.
If you don't have the reciept, they'll issue you store credit. Some stores make you spend that credit on the same day, others it lasts for a while.

Side story - we were standing in line at Canadian Tire a few years back and this guy in front of us was trying to return his vacuum. It was so obviously old, like ten years old and beat up and crappy, and to top it off, CT never stocked that brand to begin with. We were howling! I can't believe the nerve of some people. Even DH wouldn't try that!

Normally your receipt is proof enough. The warranty is probably online on the manufacturer's website too...

The receipt is more important than the warranty because it proves when you purchased it. Have you found the receipt? Otherwise you may have to do the exorcism.

:censor::censor::censor::censor:, I found the warranty, but NOT the receipt..dang!! This stinks!!
CT are usually pretty good, they will usually exchange without a receipt even though it says no on the receipt. If you can find it, it would be more helpful!

Good news I think..I found my credit card bill from that date with that transaction and it all evens out on the bill $99.99 plus tax = the charge on my bill

Do you think CT will accept this along with the warranty to prove it?

Oh and also, should I return it first, or contact Hoover first about the warranty?
Hoover will have to fix it if it is under warranty, but that may require you to ship it to them at your cost, so I would try CT first!
