I think the one that Golden Kitty pointed out as have a silver sheen, might be a silver. I still can't tell.
What I can say, is they are all ultra clear coated with amazing contrast. Even if there are no silvers this time...I'm happy with the litter. Penny has done it again. I wish I could clone her.
Tiffany, we may have a couple of Goldens in there....still to early to say, but it looks promising.
Oh my goodness! They are just too much!!! You must post some more pictures!
(The more i see pictures of bengals I fall in love with them more and more)
As requested here's a new pic of the kits and Penny. I'm pretty sure we've got ALL brown spotted. None look to be turning silver to me. We'll just have to wait for silvers from the Jack and Miss Spotty Paws mating.
I'm happy with these kittens though. They are all very clear coated and very healthy.
Thanks for the update Nial! I know you've been busy lately with showing and raising baby kitties and all the usual. Glad everything is going OK. Hopefully Penny passed on that WONDERFUL clear coat of hers!
What precious babies! This will be so much fun to see them grow. I can't wait to see them develop and change. I hope you don't get tired of posting pictures of them. As tiffanyjbt mentioned, I know you must be busy. Thank you for taking the time to indulge our Bengal kitten fix.
They are so beautiful! I can't wait to see pictures of them when they are learning to toddle around
Little ways to go still, but I was just trying to picture those little dolls in that stage, they are too cute!
That's too bad you didn't get any silvers, if you wanted some. I know when I select parents, I am looking to get a certain some thing from the pairing, be it pattern, or color. So when they don't do what they are told I am just as happy (as you are) with them any way! My first litter of kittens I wanted mitted kittens and chose a mitted sire figuring to get atleast one and sure enough I got 5 little blue point girls. They never give you what you want
I know what I can expect for litters, all I ask of her now is healthy babies, I don't try to hope for any particulars with my raggies.
Any way, don't mean to go on and on
The kittens seem to changing color, at least 3 of them are. The girl with the nice big inky black spots and no rib barring has changed the most. She is really starting to look silver. Two of the others are as well.
I know a telltale sign that the kitten is a silver, is to look at the undercoat, if the roots are silver, then the kitten is silver and will lose the brown as it developes.
I looked, but the kittens are so short pelted, it's very hard to tell, but the undercoat is definitely not brown.
Silvers are a whole new thing for us.....it's fun seeing this pan out.
An interesting fact is that Jack's sire, Steely, only throws silvers, no matter who he's mated to. He has yet to produce a brown in over 8 litters.
My wife Teri will do backflips if these kittens turn out to be silvers....I'll try to catch that on camera.
