does anyone know the average size for a female moggie?

there must be an average size recording for adult females anyone know? Domestic mutts

small frame 4-6lb

medium Ie ave 6-9 lbs

large 10-12

How do you know what size their frame is?

I know for humans it's the width of the elbow bone when extended, by height... is there a similar thing for cats?

I am sure there is but ....

small frame is a cat that may look like a kitten

medium is the usuall

large is like a ragdoll or maine coon

See, that's one of the wonderful things with moggies, there are no "averages" they're all different

There is a chart online (I wish I had it lbookmarked, but I don't) that tells you how to see if your cat is a healthy weight. Maybe someone will come along with it.

this is a good one showing body type, my vet says always better to go on looks than the scale since the bones play a part with the scale. So even a 13lb cat can be good weight if you "look" at the body

I did not know what a moggie meant so I looked it up in the cat encyclopedia's index and found moggie see random-bred kitten. I thought that was a quaint way to put it.

Yes, right. Moggies can be of almost all dimensions. But many female moggies ARE quite small, almost like kittens. In any case in Europe, surely also in the US.

If it is because of inbreeding, or because that is their fashion - I dont know. Probably both variations are possible.
