The vet thinks she might have FIP. She's only 4&1/2 months old. We love our baby so much and don't know what to do. I am at such a loss.
We lost Muffin very quickly, found a lump on her belly that was cancer and she was gone in 2 weeks.
Now having to deal with this is just heartbreaking. The vet is sending the fluid he took off her belly to CSU for analizing.
ANd I have 3 older cats in the house as well to worry about. A 6,8 and 20 yr old. I'm keeping the kitten isolated with her own litterbox.
Has anyone else had experience with FIP?
Thanks for any help

we had a kitten with FIP in our home he was my brothers and he kept her in his room with her own box and none of my moms 8 cats got infected.
However it was a horrible way for her to go and she only lived 8 months and in the end she was having seizures and she had to be put to sleep. You ahve to monitor her very closely and make sure she doesnt become to uncomfortable and suffer.

good luck with your baby

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry for your terrible loss

I unfourtunatley have lost 2 kittens in the past to FIP, I pray that the tests come back negative for it for your kitten.

My darling scrungy who is 8yrs old has been recently diagnosed with fip & fiv, I was devastated when I got the news. She has not quite beeen herself. She was such a lively cat, very active and now all she does is hide under the bed and barely eat or drink. I am so afraid that her brother may have gotten it. I still have to get him tested, so far no unususal behavior. Please pray for her.

I'm so sorry for your kitty as well.
Now I'm even more scared, cuz my vet said that the older cats would probably be ok, if we keep the kitten ( & litterbox) away from them.
Geez, what next?!?!

Strength vibes coming to you that you can deal with all this. ANd here's hoping that the diagnosis is not so bad.
