"Spring is Here" is from the movie musical Words & Music, about the songwriting partnership of Lorentz Hart & Richard Rodgers.
Haven't seen the movie but I have the song on a CD (George Wright - acclaimed Theater Organist)

"Boys'll be boys, lads'll be lads." --Here's a hint, it just came out, it's not on Bway yet. I'll give more clues later if you have trouble with it.
I feel a challenge coming on.

isn't it a gorgeous piece? does your CD have the words, too - it's a very sad song

I need more of a hint- You're in Chicago right? I trying to think what is Pre Broadway and in that area.

Lovely as in some dream come true. Winsome what I am is winsome. Radiant as in some dream come true. Oh isn't a shame I can neither sew nor cook nor read or write my name.

Is it sick I know all these lyrics- Blame my mother, she loved musicals.

"525,600 minutes..." was guessed a little before you, and Rent was the correct guess.

"I'm lovely...." I haven't seen funny girl that wasn't what I was thinking, but the one I'm thinking of might be too obscure. The word funny is in the title, though.

The rest are, of course, correct.

Sorta, I live in Champaign/Urbana, about 2 1/2 hours south of Chicago.

Ok, another clue. It's written by the same people who wrote this. "Master of the house, quick to catch your eye. Never wants a passer-by to pass him by."
