Hey I just got my second Sphynx and she has little sploches all over her back. I know its some kind of a reaction as Benadryl is helping. But my question is I think it is due to dry skin, she is an all white sphynx and whites have more sensitive skin then other colors, anyway. I have been moisturizing her back (funny I know) and its helping. I am using cetaphyl as that is the most gentle moisturizer I could think of. Does anyone know if there is one made for cats? Or does anyone have any suggestions for products for dry skin or eczema for cats? Any help would be appreciated. Also I doubt its an allergic reaction to anything environmental as she has had this condition at four homes (she has bopped around alot), long story.

Thanks in advance!

When I took Kloe to the crazy vet trying to make a buck she sold me a moisturizing conditioner for her skin. The bottle is huge and it says Vet Solutions: Aloe & Oatmeal skin & Coat conditioner The bottle says Soothing conditioner formulated with moisturizers Vitamins A, D, & E and Chamomile. It is a leave on conditioner. I think it was only like $8 and it is 16oz. She sells it over the counter. I've never used it but maybe you could check with your vet if they sell it. I know Petsmart sells moisturizing shampoos as well. Good Luck

3angels! I just ordered that yesterday from an online pet place. I hope it works!! She is sooo bumpy! But the good news is she is not itching and its not bothering her. She hasnt so much as scratched once since I got her.

It's often better to treat this stuff from the inside out, rather than the outside in (which is by moisturizing etc.). I would seriously examine her diet, make sure she's on something high qualiy (read your ingredients panels), and I would reccomend adding some Essential Fatty Acids's (Omega 3, 6, 9's) to her diet, through a fish oil suppliment.

Just to give an update. I have tried over 6 shampoos, and today I got in RELIEF Shampoo and she is doing MUCH better. She is alot softer and I can see this is going to work. Its got Omega 3 fats in it. And you actually need to leave it on for 5-10 minutes...if anyone has dry kitties it might be worth a try.
