Shipping for SS gifts

What do you have to do special if you shipping the gift out of the US ? Anyone have any idea how long it takes when its going far
Might help if it's someone who knows where I'm sending it to But I won't be saying

It depends where you are sending it but for most places, you just need a customs declaration sticker sheet and write down on it whats inside and that you certify that there isn't anything illegal in it and an airmail or surface mail sticker to show how it is going there

Yikes! The thing to do is to "Google" the customs regulations for the country in question. Since I live in Europe, and my family is in the U.S., I always figure a surface package will take about 12 weeks. That's a maximum figure, though. If I'm lucky, 4 - 6 weeks suffice. I don't send stuff that could melt or leak, as 10-1, it will! Ask about SAL packages: surface - air - land. They're a bit cheaper than air mail, and faster than surface mail. Avoid agricultural products, too.

You will need to fill out a customs declaration form. Depending on weight, and total cost, it will be either the short form, or the long form. It would be easier for you to pick up the form at the Post Office ahead of time, and fill in as much as you can at home.
