I would like to introduce everyone to Puss.
As far as i know i am Puss's 4th home. Her furever home now.
Her story goes something like this;
I don't know where Puss's first home was but from her tough exterior i don't think it was a good one.
She was found as a giveaway in a local newspaper by an old neighbour who was looking for a cat. She was a rescue cat that had been spayed and was looking for a good home. She was in a foster house with lots of other cats looking for homes. A terriffic place.
Well my neighbour got her home and within 2 weeks was complaining about her.
"This cat never shuts up. She never leaves me alone."
Within a month poor Puss was locked out of the house. Food put out when they remembered. The people went away for extended week-ends without leaving food.
At this point i only had Puddems. The only cat food i had was hills c/d.
When i found out that they were not feeding her i went and bought a box of food and started feeding her.
I found out that they were not feeding her when i asked if they wanted someone to feed her while they went away for a week and the response i got was " Nah, if we stop feeding her, maybe she will get the hint and run away."
I got really angry over that and decided that i was going to take her in no matter how long it took.
After a month out on the street she was really timid.
I would put food out and sit just inside the front door and wait for her to come. Then i would talk quietly and kindly to her.
I would only put food out for her when i was there to see her eat . At the same time each night .
when she got used to me i started opening the door and sat in an open door way.
Then I started putting the food just inside. One day I opened the door and she just wondered in .
It took a little while for her to get used to the dogs and my 2 rowdy boys but she has settled in quite nicely.
She doesnt like to be picked up or cuddled. But a scratch on the head or under the chin is her favourite.
Puss is boss around the house . Even the dogs are scared of her.
When i finally gained her trust i found that she still had stitches in her belly from her spay. The neighbours hadn't even bothered to take her to a vet to have them removed.I had that done as soon as i found them.
I love her to pieces and would never dream of sending her off to anyone else.
So now Puss lives in a happy loving home .
