No. Dogs are not omnivores like humans. Dogs are opportunistic carnivores. Meaning, they need meat to survive and to thrive but they can handle more plant matter in their diets than cats. It's a survival tactic not a permanent diet.
FN has also come out with two new flavors. Beef and Hoki and Lamb and Salmon. My cat likes these and as long as you only feed occasionally then the fish shouldn't be an issue.
I have tried the Ziwipeak, my cat wouldn't even taste it :c I fear the same may be the case with the wellness air dried since it is soft and not crunchy.
My only issue with Wysong is that I have to give them a strong side eye for selling and promoting vegan dog and cat food....I don't know if...
Out of curiosity, I was searching around for low/no starch dry foods. Since Orijen's formula change, my cat doesn't like it as much anymore. I only give a tablespoon and a half as a nightly snack before bed.
But I was wondering which formula is better in terms of quality of ingredients and...
How do you guys feel about red meat? Like beef, lamb, goat, bison, pork etc.
Is red meat healthy? Of course, not a cat's whole diet being red meat, but should it be included in a diet?
Such as Orijen's Regional Red, which is nearly all red meat, is it even ok to feed that much red meat?
It is ok in moderation. No more than three times a week, maximum. Once a week as a treat is ideal.
Weruva's fish recipes are the only ones i feed to my cat, as they constantly test for mercury, keep low mineral levels, and use sustainable wild caught fish. It's definitely better than most fish...
She really should take the cat to the vet. There are plenty of low income vet clinics or clinics that offer payment plans.
She can try switching the cat to a limited ingredient diet wet food. Dry food is very high in carbs and may be exacerbating the problem. Merrick, Natural Balance, and Koha...
Also there's a ton of sources "avalible on line" about how carageenan does not cause cancer.

What "natural flavor" is, in regards to Performatrin Ultra and most other holistic brands
[quote name="Zosia"
I'm trying my best to decipher this jumble but
Carrageenan does not cause cancer. There are two forms of it, one which causes cancer and one which does not. The one which causes cancer is not in food products! The "whole" form of carrageenan is completely food safe and is...
I have been informed that "natural flavor" can come from anything from chicken liver to a combination of yeasts. Sometimes it's also fat.
For example, the natural flavor in Rawz is chicken liver. The natural flavor in Performatrin Ultra is a blend of chicken liver and several yeasts.
A lot of good high quality wet foods have GLM oil. ZiwiPeak, Feline Naturals, Koha, RedBarn, and more.
Ive only heard hold things about so its always a win for me to see it on the label. It's a natural anti inflammatory that helps with hip and joint issues.
Sounds like they are eating too fast and/or reacting to something in the food.
A good remedy for after meal pukers is to feed wet food (wet food has less starch than dry, which is usually causing the upset. A burst of carbs causes alkaline stomach conditions which upsets a Kitty's stomach). You...
Purina is garbage food. It's chock full of useless carb fillers like corn, brewer's rice, wheat, oat groats, etc.
I'd recommend feeding your cat's 100% wet food in the form of Fancy Feast Classics but you don't want to do that so you'll have to spend more on high quality dry.
Orijen, Rawz...
I have not since the local stores do not carry it. Buying online would only be an option if they sell it by the can and most sell it by the case :(
I sent them an email inquiring about it, i will get back when they respond
The Koha Wild Brushtail recipe seems to have disappeared from their website :0
My local store still has plenty of it and the employees did note that a bunch of flavors got discontinued and replaced with new ones (all fish recipes and the goat) but were sure the Brushtail wasn't. Now it's not on...
Purina Beyond is a pretty mediocre grain free food. It's very starchy, high in peas.
Why don't you just do all wet? Fancy Feast Classics and Sheba pates are pretty good for grocery store foods and have basically no starch.
There are a bunch of guides and tips on this website that will help...
