I forgot to update - we had him seen. He had a bowel obstruction and also thickening in the intestine they weren't sure if Inflammatory Bowel or Cancer - unfortunately he didn't make it.
My 7yr old cat has been on Clomicalm for not quite 1yr for stress urination (everyone is home, loud kids). Its helped great! He hasn't peed inappropriately since!
The med did make him a little tired and less appetite. A few times a month he would randomly vomit too. In the past month he seems to...
Thank you for your response Jem.
Good news is she has since peed x 2. They dont know whether she just held it in d/t stress vs the medication so we will keep on it for now but have to keep an eye on it.
She likes to hide under our bed when she is scared. Her favourite relaxing place though is...
I have a spayed indoor female cat 4yrs old "Mia". We also have 2 fixed male cats. They seem to get along until about a few months ago an outdoor cat started coming around, our cats were watching him & 1 cat accidentally touched Mia & she flipped out (redirected aggression) lost bladder control...
I have 3 cats. My 6yr old orange boy is neutered, healthy. Hes always been one to steal food, eat weird things & puke.
4mos ago an outdoor cat (he is not feral has a collar) shows up at various windows at our house and gets our cats all riled up. He is friendly we have to shoo him, but my guys...
Aftet bloodwork, iv fluids, cerenia injections, appetite stimulants, syringe feeding we have brought them home finally.
It is a virus that has attacked their livers. My cat that died 3 weeks ago also had this, however he had cancer ad well and his immune system just couldn't fight and they feel...
They are actually on different foods. One of them had urinary issues in the past so he is on a different wet and dry food than the other. So we were at least able to eliminate that as a cause.
Now they did both get 2 Temptations cat treats each night and I started searching online and finding...
I took him in this morning, along with my 1 other cat who also just started vomiting now too and won't eat. They ran bloodwork, everything was ok. They aren't blocked either. They are treating it as viral with anti nausea nt and an appetite stimulant to get them back on track and fluid therapy...
Hello, 3 weeks ago we lost our 4yr old cat to cancer. 10 days later "my other cat" that I raised and bottlefed but had a strong hate for my husband so lived with my parents suddenly died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at the age of 7. Now 10 days later my other cat at home is now getting sick...
Our 4 year old cat had to be put down today. When they first found the mass they said "he's young so it's probably not cancer" but he got sicker and sicker until it surprised us all that yes young cats can get it, it just had to be our poor guy. He was always happy when he would cuddle and purr...
Final Update:
Keeping it short because today sucks. He got worse, was seen in vets office again, investigations etc, symptom management. Continued to get worse, went back this morning and results revealed terminal. We had to choose between quality and quantity of life. Treatment would give us...
Another update: He was acting happier, the peeing issue was still happening a bit but drastically improved amd vets were thinking the mass was maybe a large crystal or blood clot. However in the past week he would throw up every couple days, didn't think much of it at first. Then he started...
UPDATE:
He is home with us, for now. They found a mass in his bladder that wasn't seen before. He is being treated with pain meds for the time being until we find out for sure what it is. Theres a chance it may NOT be cancer, but will have to wait and see.
He is at the vets office, I am awaiting test results. So for your information as a last ditch effort they are checking EVERYTHING. If there is a health issue we can help him.
However if he is indeed psychotic as he's been labeled then they again recommended he be put down as human safety is #1...
They did urine tests, on multiple occasions but no ultrasound. But tonight was the icing on the cake: the cat attacked my husband tonight. Our vet had warned us the psychotic tendencies made him unstable and he might becomes violent. Which he did. Thankfully my husband was the only one in the...
Well I'm unfortunately back. Despite putting in hard flooring, the peeing just transferred and he started peeing in my son's bedroom, the area rugs etc. So we tried separating the cats on different levels. Angry cat now sits and just cries at the door for hours and hours and it's driving us...
We are willing to try it, like I say we've been pretty patient for a whole year with him like this. We are going to price out some hard flooring for the basement as well, the carpet is pretty much ruined and through all layers down there. So all will be a fresh start, we hope. Hopefully he...
My husband and I talked last night and we are looking at separating 1/2 our basement off to give him some space. When they all had free range of the house he basically lived in 2 rooms in the basement he was a hermit all day down there except for food time he'd come up. It's a large basement so...
