Help with Australian cat food choices

Thanks guys for the welcome! Willow is doing great on Ziwipeak and even though she backslid a little recently which meant a trip to the vet, the vet's advice of 24 hours without food has actually improved her poops even more dramatically!! She is almost pooping like a normal cat, but she is...

Help with Australian cat food choices

Sliding on in, as I'm another Aussie (QLD) who tore her hair out trying to find the right food for her baby!! Completely agree that our American friends are really spoilt for choice when it comes to food variety - totally jealous, particularly if you are trying to resolve an issue that everyone...

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

I've weaned her off the s. Boulardii (she's a bit upset about that since she loved it!) and I do give her a probiotic called Protexin - I would love to give her Nexabiotic but Amazon doesn't ship to Australia and I can't find an Australian stockist :(

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

Just a quick update - I have found a significant improvement with Ziwipeak air dried AND canned  She has now been transitioned purely on this food and her poops are so much better. They aren't perfect, but I almost get the feeling Willow will always be a problem child :lol3: It's an...

5 months old kitten with toothpaste form stool

I have a Ragdoll whose loose stool we are still working through. For me, I dampen a paper towel and use kitten shampoo to wash the hair with poop stuck to it - just make sure you throughly wash it out again :)

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

Thanks @mrsgreenjeens, I will definitely keep going as I really want it resolved for her!! Other than her digestion and the night time face nibbling :lol3:, she is a lovely kitten :) I cook the pumpkin myself, we don't have the convenience option here in Australia like you guys do! So...

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

I only started her on a quarter of a teaspoon twice a day, but am upping it to a teaspoon and will give it a few more days to see Yep, did a PCR test to see what was wrong, and that's how the bacteria was discovered I am almost thinking that I am just never going to get this sorted for her :(

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

Well I started giving Willow pumpkin yesterday, which has turned her poop to liquid this morning :( :(

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

Thanks for that msgreenjeans, I haven't seen that article about the fibre! Yes, she underwent weeks of Flagyl and Tylan - the only time her stool changed was when I put her on Royal Canin kitten (which has 2.2% fibre, I just checked). I give her half a capsule of s bourladii morning and night...

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

Because she never did 'fine' with me - I made sure I asked and got the same food the breeder had, and Willow's poops were very loose. Don't want to say that the breeder lied, but I honestly don't see how she was ever 'fine'

    Kitty with a sensitive tum

I have had my precious Willow since April, and she has always had an issue with food. Not with eating it, she looooves food; just with digesting it!! She has had loose stool since we got her, and while we have done testing and some meds for bacteria, it really looks like her problem is with...

    HELP! Blood and diarrhoea

Did you transition the food change slowly? Does your cat get wormed? Could be due to sudden change in food, or parasite

11 year old Cat with constant diarrhea

It could take a week to see results, for some it's a few days. Recommend a month of treatment though - it just really depends on how kitty responds

11 year old Cat with constant diarrhea

Poor little guy, what a cutie! Just stepping in to agree with the recommendation of S Boulardii - I have been giving it to my cat to help manage her chronic loose stool. I get the Jarrow brand with MOS which, as stated above, is apparently very bitter, and cats hate it.......but my cat LOVES...

    Scratching bald spots beneath ears

I'm pretty confident it's the food that has made a difference - as soon as I started her on it, the poops started improving when I had really seen no improvement before. I did take her off the meds and stopped the s boulardii to see if it was the food. Yep. I have started giving her a bit of s...

    Scratching bald spots beneath ears

Well @mrsgreenjeens, just an update, while we still haven't found anything from the head shaking, we are making headway with the poops.......by switching her to Royal Canin kitten food. I know it's not the best, but damn, if it keeps working I have no choice to keep her on it!! For the first...

I have a face nibbler on my hands

My gorgeous little furball, Willow, has a bad habit of biting my face at night when I sleep, purring the whole time. She is 7.5 months old, so still young :) She ONLY does it to me, not my husband, who enjoys full nights of sleep beside me. I have searched this site when the problem first...
