This is probably a silly question, but are nice quality cold cuts a good cat treat? My cat Riley looooooves cold cut turkey and rotisserie chicken, I don't give it to him often but I think it seems better than processed treats (which he doesn't like anyway).
That's what the little toys are for. He's kinda....well, very fat already, so I don't think a tree would do much good. I do have a laser pointer though, we already play that game.
Hey guys. Last year I moved in with my partner and left my cat Riley at my parent's house. Now I want to bring him over here because he's very attached to me and I miss him a lot. A lot of the articles I read were geared towards moving into a new home and unpacking and stuff, but I am moving him...
Well I went and bought him some Science Diet wet food (since he likes their dry a lot), and he ate some of it but who knows what will happen tomorrow. Sometimes he'll eat it once and then never again.
I know he has a pink nose, but his ear skin and the rest of his body has darker skin. The...
He doesn't really like wet food, that's why I don't feed him it. I've tried a lot of types, but he just eats a little bit and goes back to his dry. I end up wasting most of it so I just stopped buying it altogether.
Any specific brands/flavors/types you'd recommend? I'd be willing to try it with...
This is probably a silly question--my Snowshoe cat suddenly got a dot on his nose. It almost looks like he just put his nose on a Sharpie pen or something, I actually thought he had (he's very curious and intelligent and always poking his nose into things) until I noticed it got bigger and then...
Thanks guys, I took him up this afternoon and it turns out it was conjunctivitis (eye infection). He got some antibiotic gel stuff for his eye, so that should be fun tonight.
I noticed tonight that one of my cats has a little problem with one of his eyes. He keeps it slightly closed all the time, and it looks a bit swollen (not badly), it's pretty red, looks very slightly cloudy, and I remember the last few days I noticed he had some crusty, greenish discharge around...
Tomorrow my family is beginning to foster a 9 year old Boston Terrier dog who has leukemia (acute, I think) and only has a few weeks to live. I have my two male cats (both 3 years old) in the household. One is healthy and the other one is too, except he has a weaker immune system (no diseases...
Thanks to both of you for putting my mind at ease about the "caved in" look due to the extractions.
I actually took Riley up to the vet on Monday for his annual shots, and he said his gums are looking better. It's likely due to the Transfer Factor, since nothing else has changed, but my vet...
Thanks for the positive response about his face; I didn't think that would happen, but she insists other. First, I have to work on my mother, she is quite adamant about not removing any teeth. We're going to the vet next week anyway for his and my other cat's checkups, so I'm sure he'll want to...
"Have you thought about extractions yet? I know it seems extreme - believe me, I had misgivings about it myself when I faced a similar problem with my own cat, but afterwards I couldn't have been happier with the results."
The thing is, Riley is not just my cat, and my mother does not like the...
Gayef, thanks for your always helpful responses. That makes so much sense. I guess my question now is, what can I do? I know there's an infection...should we just start him on a course of Cipro as usual, or is there something better I could do for him?
Oh, and from the look of it, I'm not sure...
I've posted here a few times before about my Snowshoe cat, he has bad gingivitus and he's been on antibiotics on and off for a long time (Cipro). His problems are due to an immunodefinency problem, a surpressed immune system (but not FIV or leukemia, tested twice negative). I started giving him...
"but so many people don't worry about gingivitis and the cat normally ends up in Chronic Renal Failure because of it."
sorry to hijack this thread.
Hi Gayef, I don't know if you remember me but I talked to you several months ago about my Snowshoe cat Riley, with his chronic (severe) gingivitus...
