Well I just got back from Walmart and decided since it was on sale to get the 24 x 3 oz box of Sheba in the cut form in gravy that has 8 chicken, 8 salmon and 8 tuna in the box. Even though she had 3 oz at 5 pm and has been munching on the dry food as well, I gave her a 3 oz can of chicken to...
Just a few minutes ago here is the conversation I had with Butterscotch.
Butterscotch coming out from under my bed:
Me: Were you just sleeping
Her: A drawn out meow almost like she was saying yes as she stretches out
Her: Looking at where her wet food dish usually is and then looks back at...
When the adoption person came over last Thursday for me to meet Butterscotch to see if she was a good fit, she stayed a couple hours doing a introduction with Tangerine, Mango and Butterscotch. They walked around each other, but neither group really reacted much to the other or seemed to really...
Wet food update
I just wanted to let you know that Butterscotch has been on the Sheba portions for breakfast and dinner for the last four days and she gives it afive kitten rating. I think it was smart to go with a chicken and a salmon that way she's not getting the same flavor over and over...
I agree. That's why I posted my question on here to see if there was something I was missing. Trust me the more Butterscotch and I bond the more I learn just how much the name Butterscotch really fits her.
That makes sense. I just put 2 and 2 together and never took into consideration, the 4 days or so she had been at the shelter. For the life of me I kept trying to figure out what I was doing differently. In the end it's not what I'm doing differently it's her going from a bad environment to a...
Thanks. She's been out and about today and we did some floor time earlier this evening and once she did this, I gave Butterscotch her night time portion of her wet food.
No the shelter only had her for 4 days. She and her litter of kittens were abandoned/surrendered by the original owners to the animal hospital/vet I take my two 9 month old male kittens to. It's my understanding that the original owners didn't do a very good job taking care of any of them.
So...
I know I've only had her at my house since last Thursday and she does comes out to eat, drink, use the litter box, climb on the window sill and in the evenings/bed time she will come curl up in my bed. However when she's not doing that she seems to like going under my bed and where I assume she...
I think she's a little perturbed with me this morning. I believe during the night I accidentally knocked her out of bed. Usually she sleeps by the head of the bed, but last night she slept farther down and when I rolled over she rolled off. I checked her and she's fine (wanted to make sure her...
I'm in the same boat as you with my newly adopted 2 year old female. Butterscotch who I adopted on Thursday 2 was spayed on 8/10 and most of her stomach area was shaved. The funny thing is she keeps rolling on her back for tummy rubs which I gently do, but it also gives me a good chance to make...
When I was a kid, my cat Snickers who was an inside/outside cat before we knew any better, would each day bring a dead bird in the house and if we didn't watch him closely when he came in to see if he had anything he would deposit them behind the coach.
Oh trust me it's not like I was going to change it to something else. She is Butterscotch, but you guys are always so honest on here that I figured who would I get the best feed back from then you guys.
Thanks for the cuteness comment as well, she is a cutie if I say so myself.
I hope so. I will keep her on Friskies for another week to 10 days and then start the gradual transition from Friskies dry to grain free with wet food in the morning and evening as a supplement.
Her old owners were pretty much idiots when it comes to taking care of cats/kittens, so I wouldn't be surprised that they originally thought she was a he before kittens started popping out of her. She is 2 and was just spayed on Monday 8/10. That obviously explains their idea of care.
When I got Tangerine and Mango from a local shelter that's the names they already had so I kept them. However Butterscotch was originally Simba and she is obviously not a Simba.
