He got the shot and he’s doing much better. Crashed out on the bed today and slept for a while and then he got up and started romping around with his sister.

Cat Chewing & Washing Himself To Pieces - Help!

Well I just swabbed some on his paws and he looked at me kind of funny, then he started licking them. I don't have normal cats. He stopped licking after a moment and then ran and hid. He's now laying under the comforter on my bed. I'll keep an eye on him and see how it goes.

Cat Chewing & Washing Himself To Pieces - Help!

I just brewed some chamomile tea. Letting it cool and then I'll give it a try. Right now Butch is romping all over the place playing making little cat noises. Maybe that's a good sign.

Cat Chewing & Washing Himself To Pieces - Help!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I think it was the food. My apologies, I forgot to mention this. I had started to transition them on to another food (Purina Beyond Grain Free) about 2 weeks ago. I treated the situation like a math problem, trying to figure out what "x" was. They've been using...

Cat Chewing & Washing Himself To Pieces - Help!

Recently my boy Butch started aggressively chewing at his legs and paws. I became so alarmed I took him to the vet to be examined. The vet said he was either having an allergic reaction to something or it was a behavioral issue (or it could even be both). He has always washed his stomach to the...

Perplexed Why My Cats Are Always Shaking Their Heads

A couple days ago I took my cats to the vets to get them some Depo shots and a resupply of Revolution. The Depo was for scabs and their itching which the vet said was seasonal allergies. He checked my cats teeth and ears and said they were good, but both my cats still shake their heads a lot...

Trying New Litter - Swheat Scoop

Well this litter was a bust. I had to go to work, but when I came home I found they had used their litter boxes. The bust came when I tried scooping the litter - it does not clump very well and pieces crumble everywhere, which makes it impossible to find them because it's all wheat colored! For...

Trying New Litter - Swheat Scoop

duckpond, thanks for that info. We'll see how it goes with this sWheat stuff. At least at Chowhound they have a policy that if you buy a product from them and it doesn't work out you can bring it back for a full refund.

Trying New Litter - Swheat Scoop

Took my cats to the vet because they were itching a lot and poor Butch had a bunch of scabs along his back and under his tail. After examining the cats the vet said he saw no signs of fleas so he concluded it must be allergies of some kind. He gave each of them some Revolution and a shot of...

Using Essential Oils In A Shot Glass?

I don't want to harm the kids if I can help it, so if the peppermint is going to be more of an issue than the eucalyptus then I might just stick with the eucalyptus (or check out some other ones, providing they're safe). I had ordered two diffusers along with some essential oils, but something...

Using Essential Oils In A Shot Glass?

I have had eucalyptus in shot glasses placed up near the ceiling on a rafter for a while now and I've never noticed any ill effects on the cats. That's why I thought I would try something else, namely peppermint, since I've read that is a real deterrent against creepy crawlies. The shot glasses...

Using Essential Oils In A Shot Glass?

I know that certain essential oils can help deter bugs and since I live in a basement I want to be able to use them. I was going to use a couple oil diffusers until I found out that these could cause harm to my furry kids. But now I'm wondering, can I use these same oils in a shot glass? I...
