    Black stools and Feline Hyperesthesia

Yes, black stools can mean there is internal bleeding in the upper intestine, or internal bleeding somewhere higher that is then digested, which makes the stools turn black.

    Black stools and Feline Hyperesthesia

I wanted to add that after three doses of her medication for the ulcers, her stools look MUCH better, but still give off a faint odor, and are REALLY hard on the outside, but the vet says she doesn't "feel" constipated. So I am seeing some progress, but the introduction of this new thing she is...

    Black stools and Feline Hyperesthesia

I also wanted to ask a quick question that I COMPLETELY forgot to mention. I have since transitioned her to  RAW beef, and there has been a very large amount of blood that she eats. Is there anyway that, perhaps, THIS is what is causing the dark stools when she is acting otherwise normal, and...

    Black stools and Feline Hyperesthesia

Cleopatra and I have gone down a LONG road, and currently I am (once again!) at a loss. In late 2015, I noticed she was havig severe bloody and mucusy diarrhea. We went to our vet, and we took blood tests. Calcium was high, and she had lost about 1/2 a pound. She was squirming though, and was...

    Low fat beef diet?

Thanks for the responses! I meant the vet thought she had cancer because of the high calcium level. However, when we brought her back to the vet, her calcium was back down, however the vet said she was slightly anemic. I think she may have IBD. Alright, thanks for the info of changing her food...

    Low fat beef diet?

Thanks for the responses! In late November of 2015 she stated having blood in her stools, and vomited, and occasionally had runny stools. It was pretty horrible. I brought her to a vet, and they tried giving her Albon, even when they couldn't see any bacteria. Albon probably contributed to her...

    Low fat beef diet?

I just had a quick question. It seems that pork is not going as good with her, anymore. It still is fine, but I am just noticing that it doesn't have the same good effects it used to. Could I transition her to low fat beef, perhaps? I do not want to try chicken, in case that was the cause of...

    Constipation?

Thanks for the response! Yes, she is eating an all meat diet, however, she only poops every other day or so, and it is really hard and tiny. I heard that was normal, but I thought it was supposed to be light colored, not really dark.

    Constipation?

Cleo has been doing well, but I had a few concerns. When I brought her into the vet for a check-up, her calcium had gone down to normal. However, she was slightly anemic, and the vet said to keep an eye on her. I noticed she had tapeworms so I recently wormed her, so this may play a part. I do...

    Royal Canin feeders--please help.

Personally, I do not like Royal Canin at all. It has SO many fillers, and the price is SO high for something that is barely better than food at a grocery store. However, this truly depends on a cat by cat basis. I would not recommend a perfectly healthy cat to remain on RC. But the best choice...

Should I Still Be Hoping My Missing Cat Will Come Home?

I came in here to post, again, that all hope should NOT be lost. I lot Cleo in -10 degree weather for three days, with snow piled up several feet high. She had NEVER spent a night outdoors, or even an hour outdoors! Needles to say, I was petrified that my 5 pound kitty would become lost, not be...

    Update with Cleo

Hello everyone, it has been awhile. I just wanted to offer an update, and ask for some ideas. I took Cleo to the vet several weeks ago, because I thought her anal glands were infected. The vet said that they were not, and what I saw was a side effect of an irritant in her stomach due to an...

    IBS?? IBD?? PLEASE HELP!!

My cat has been dealing with the same issues, and it seems to be dialing down now. I was just as desperate as you! Here is what I did, and what I would do if I were you~ Buy some boneless pork Buy some beef liver Buy Alnutrin, a supplement online. Prepare it as directed, except cook the...

    Cleopatra may have IBD(otherwise cancer).

So Cleo went to the vet on Thursday for a check-up, and because it seemed like she had brown/orange pus stuff in her stools. I thought they were her anal glands. So they observed her and it was not her anal glands. The 'look over' was pretty well, she gained half a pound! I told them I wanted a...

    Need some support.

I am soooo sorry for not being on! I have been so busy! The x-ray has come back normal!! However, I have been going through gastrointestinal problems recently, so that's been pretty difficult. But I am, nonetheless SO grateful.

    Cleopatra may have IBD(otherwise cancer).

It's definitely not hiccup, I think they are burps, and I looked around on the website, and I realized I could try elevating her bowl because she may scarf it down. Her stools look pretty normal. No blood since her new diet though I see occasional mucus. She ate some dog food tat was...

    Cleopatra may have IBD(otherwise cancer).

Nothing much as changed with her, the vomiting was a one time thing. However, I need some more second opinions. For a long time, like a year, sometimes, after she eats, she sort of hiccups. It is not a hiccup though,  it's sort of like a stomach spasm like her stomach exhales sharply and her...
