I was misleading in my original post, I just edited it. She isn't pregnant (thank goodness) she showed up six years ago pregnant and we adopted the kittens out and had her spayed. But we just kept calling her Mama so my husband officially named her Mama Catss in honor of Mama Cass (:
My maybe 7 year old (she was a stray six years ago) has become super picky about her wet food, I throw away more than she eats. I finally found a Fancy Feast "appetizer" she will eat, but that can't be good long term. (She has access to dry at all times - I'm not sure how much of that she eats...
Hi everyone,
I have a cat named Mostly Feral. Her name is an exaggeration but she’s not what you’d call social! Most people don’t know she exists because if she sees a human other than my husband and I she is in the basement in a flash. She likes face scritches from us so she gets lots of those...
Hello everyone,
I have three indoor cats and we recently got an 8-month-old beagle. When we had dogs before (our 17 year old and 14 year old passed away in 2013) we had a dog door. The cats roamed freely as they had my whole life (we always had a dog door when I was growing up). But I didn't...
"Belle seems convinced that I'm the grim reaper come to take away her soul (presuming, of course, that she has a soul)."
Ha ha! The best thing for a cat owner is a sense of humor. You've got that covered!
I have a cat who is actually named "Mostly Feral." I rescued her from a feral litter (domesticated, outside mom) at about 8 weeks old. I have lavished love upon her for six years.
She's nowhere near as disdainful of affection as your cat, but any and all interaction is at her discretion.
She...
Before our dogs passed away, we had a dog door, so the cats were free to come and go 24/7. In the spring especially, we would wake up constantly to the triumphant hunter's cry of a cat and know that it was time to "GET THE NET!"
Yep, they let so many birds, bunnies and mice free in the house...
I apologize if someone already noted this, but the post said "it has it's ear clipped so I am assuming it has the basic shots and is either spayed or neutered."
Do you mean an ear tip is notched? Does that not mean it is part of a feral colony and has been trapped and neutered? Maybe there is...
Our cats have all been spayed or neutered and have been long lived. Until recently, we had a dog door so they were all indoor/outdoor. I had one cat Snowy(a girl) from the time I was 6 until I was a senior in college. She died of leukemia. We had a girl, Sheila, who died of kidney failure at...
I'm going to give it a try tonight and if I don't feel comfortable, I will take her in. It looks pretty simple, but she turns from docile to maniac when placed on her back. I left the vet a message and they will get back to me I'm sure. I just want to make sure that was her only non-dissolving...
They didn't say a word! I would have made the appointment right then! I had it in my head, whether from them or just me that they were dissolving, because I don't remember taking my other girl in to have her stitches removed (been years, but same vet.) I didn't notice it for a while because...
Mama Catss was spayed in November. There is one stitch left. It isn't sore (I can tug it), it isn't embedded, the skin isn't red or growing around it. It is just a perfect little knot of wire with two little ends sticking out. I'm going to call her vet tonight, but is this totally weird?
Some of you may remember, I joined this site in November because I had taken in a pregnant stray who had severe maternal aggression toward my other two cats. I was clueless about “introductions” and did everything wrong I could possibly do. I mean EVERYTHING wrong!
Things turned out slightly...
Fun. 11 out of 12, but I missed an important one -- how deep the litter should be, even though that is how much I actually use. I just assumed I was probably doing it wrong(:
