Is a do over possible? (re-introducing cat into multicat home - long)

Hi Everyone! I have a problem and I am praying some of you fine folks can help me out!  Back in October I posted about a stray I had found in my neighborhood that had been abandoned by it's owners (foreclosure).  In any case, I took the stray - Finley - to the vet and had him checked out and...

Fostering a stray, without putting my kiddos at risk...

Thank you Feralvr and Susan! I am quite smitten with him...and he is SUCH a handsome boy in person. He is so cuddly, too...I can carry him around like a baby. Someone at some point was very kind to him. Makes what happened to him so sad to me. He is a warm boy with a full belly now!

Fostering a stray, without putting my kiddos at risk...

Feralvr - You are spot on! I feel so lucky that this little guy found me. I am going to have him retested because in the few days since we have sheltered him in the garage he has come back with a scratch to the face and we have a few strays in the neighborhood. I am just sick with worry...

Fostering a stray, without putting my kiddos at risk...

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for the advice! It makes me feel a whole lot better. Of the four cats I have, 3 are rescues and when I got them they were tested for FeLV and that was that...this is my first vet in the States and she kind of scared me when she said that even though the stray...

Thank you, Mystic and Mews Having been off the meds he is so much more cheerful today and is actually eating...no vomiting (which was just bile, anyways) To see the difference in him is amazing and really makes me question continuing on with treatment. Mews: If you could ask some of the...

HCM - Opting not to medicate?

Hi everyone! Yes, it has been a while for me... In any case, a little back story...I had two brothers, Maddie and Riley. Maddie was diagnosed with HCM in the fall of 2006. We had him on treatment (Atenolol) and ultrasounds every 3-4 months. Sadly, he passed away almost one year (Nov 2007)...

Thanks, guys!! Giz is doing amazing. Today was his final blood test from the vet; he came out 100% healthy so we are able to start the intoduction process! Bri and I bought a huge door size fence to put up tonight, so everyone can see each other. Giz is on the 2nd floor in the guest room...

Thinking about taking a stray inside

I agree; trap him (or get him in a carrier) and get him to the vet for testing and neutering. I just took in a stray last week after a month of feeding him. It just broke my heart to see him outside and so lonely and miserable (his behaviour was almost spot on to Oreo) so I trapped him last...
