    Moving with my OAP cat

Thanks for your reply. 2 of my cats have actually pee'd themselves during short journeys to the vets so the puppy pads are a great idea. Will have to try and put them in a very quiet place while unpacking, I have no family where I am moving so cant leave them at someones house :/ will have to...

    Moving with my OAP cat

Thank you so much for your reply. There was never any question of her going to a shelter, she is our family and we have always loved her dearly and she is very happy and spoiled lol Thank you for your tips, they sound great and will certainly try them. Tara has her own blanket that she sleeps...

    Moving with my OAP cat

Hey all. I have 3 cats - one of which is senior. She is almost 17 and was my Grandmothers cat who sadly past away 18 months ago and Tara came to us. While she has been living a good life with us, she doesnt get along very well with our 2 other cats, its not overly bad but they arent best...

    Goats Milk

Thanks for your reply. I did wonder if the wet food would be enough but I hate the fact they drink no water, especially when summer comes. They do drink the milk quite a bit, but maybe that is for enjoyment rather then being thirsty. Dont want my kitties to be fat lol Thanks again!

    Goats Milk

Hi all. How good or bad for our cats and kitten is goats milk? The reason I ask is that my cat Peanut and kitten Pepper will not drink water. I have tried different bowls, fountains and putting the water in different places around the house etc I read goats milk was good for kittens as it was...

    "Nodules" lumps on kittens legs

Hi all. I noticed the day after we got our kitten Pepper that she has 2 "nodules" on both her front legs in the same place and her legs are ever so slightly bent. They seem hard - like bone, I have poked them and they seem to cause no discomfort. We are due to see the vet in a few weeks and...

Helping elderly cat with new kitten

Tara doesnt venture upstairs at all. She has arthritis and doesnt do stairs so the downstairs is her domain, not the upstairs. Tara sleeps on her chair in the living room and Peanut sleeps on his tree in the other bedroom - thats his domain also. No one is shut out of anywhere as this is a room...

Helping elderly cat with new kitten

The lady told us to take the kitten home and leave her in the crate for the other cats to investigate - which we did. She said if there isnt any hissing etc then all should be well and to just leave the kitten roam around freely. There were no hissing or any fuss so after about 10-15 of the...

Helping elderly cat with new kitten

Thank you again. We were going to separate them and intro the kitten slowly but this lady was so adamant, that we [wrongly] followed her advise. In Tara's defense, she doesnt like other cats anyway as she came from an only cat household (she was my grans cat who passed away last year and we took...

Helping elderly cat with new kitten

Thanks for your reply. We actually followed the advise of the lady we adopted her from who works for the Cats Protection and fosters 80 cats a year so thought she would know best, maybe not. I do separate the kitten at night from the rest of the house, she sleeps with me.

    Senior cat eating kitten food.

Thanks for your reply. Tara isnt over weight, she had a check up at the vets around 6 months ago and no mention of her weight was made. The cheese was just a test if she had an appetite or not as I know she does love it and yes, sprinkling it on her food is a good idea.  I do suspect it is the...

Helping elderly cat with new kitten

Thanks for your reply. I do interact with Tara all the time and make a fuss of her and she does have time away from Pepper. Pepper also sleeps upstairs in a room with me while Tara sleeps downstairs as she always has done. Tara has improved with Pepper but I do worry about the eating part as I...

Helping elderly cat with new kitten

Hi all, We got a new kitten a few days ago and our senior cat Tara isnt taking it too well. She has gone off her food (but will eat kitten food) and is a bit sulky. We all still make a fuss of her as we usually do - more so in fact. The new kitten, Pepper, more or less keeps her distance from...

    Senior cat eating kitten food.

Hey all. We have just got a new kitten (4 days ago) and our elderly cat (who is 16) has gone off her food. She will lick the jelly off her own food or just walks away. She does have an appetite as she wants the food in the first place and will eat cheese... and kitten food. Is this ok for her...
