I don't have an exact rotation yet, since I've only had my kitten, Whiskey, for 1 week so far. BUT he currently likes/has eaten the following:
DRY
Wellness Core Kitten
WET
Nature's Variety Instinct Healthy Weight Chicken (I had coupons...)
Purina One SmartBlend chicken pate & turkey pate...
I ordered this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091OMWUW/?tag=&tag=thecatsite . I haven't received it yet tho, so I have no idea what the quality is. It is my first cat tree purchase & should arrive in the next 4-5 days! :)
@GraveKandi: Nice list! Thanks. :)
@Raintyger: Yes, I'd like to try Hounds & Gatos...just need to find a store that sells it around here.
I'd also like to look into Authority whenever I get around a Petsmart. I bought a few cans of Soulistic from Petco the other day & 2 cans of Evanger's...
I feed wet food in a ceramic bowl, & dry food and water are plastic bowls. I specifically didn't buy stainless steel, because my family had several dogs in the past that had hair loss issues, which we traced back to the stainless steel. I know it sounds crazy, but it resolved itself after...
I know I read a thread like this not too long ago, but I can't seem to find it...so sorry about another thread.
As of right now, I have bought the more expensive brands of wet food for my kittens. I would like a list of cheaper brands that are "okay" that I can feed...should money get tight...
@GraveKandi: What amount do you feed per wet meal? You said 4 wet meals a day, but is that like a can or 2 or how much for the whole day? And yes, that link would be much appreciated. As for my location, I live in NH, so nowhere near Colorado.
Unfortunately, I still haven't been able to...
Has anyone on here ever fed the wet food, Applaws, to their cat? I have never heard of it, but I bought a can of the chicken breast kind to try. I know it's only a supplemental food, but I like that it only has 3 ingredients & is additive free.
And do any cats show interest in the freeze dried...
Thanks so much for the info! And the fish part makes more sense now. I'll be sure to not buy too much fish based foods. I actually bought some Wellness Core wet food & BFF pouches today, so I have a variety to start with once I bring home the kittens.
Also, the other wet food wasn't purine one, its purine pro plan.
I don't know if I will, but is it appropriate to add som raw food to a kitten diet or is that specific to adult cats?
I've never even heard of those. I haven't owned a cat for the past 7 or 8 years though. The local pet store didn't have those, so I guess I'll have to research those online & maybe find where it is sold in stores. Otherwise I guess I might be ordering food online..
So...this post is somewhat preemptive, because I have not taken my 2 kittens home yet. On the other hand, I already bought food before finding this website. I've read through several threads & read some from catinfo.org.
Basically my question, like most new kitten owners, what will be best to...
