Here is an update. I consulted my cat's vet, who is holistic, by the way, and he has determined that my cat's issues aren't behavioral. His issues are actually due to faulty wiring in his brain. In short, he said that he's mentally ill, just like some people are mentally ill. I actually found a...
I am actually going through this myself with my 2-year-old cat that has been aggressive from an early age. To date, he bit me and put me in the hospital for three days. He next bit my mom and she wound up in the emergency room, and he attacks her without any provocation every time she visits...
People aren't coming and going. And he has a very nice home environment. He is strictly an indoor cat, and he has plenty of toys and climbing spaces. He just attacks people unprovoked. My landlord called me this morning to tell me that his hand is swollen, and he had to see his doctor. He also...
I have a cat that just turned 2 in April. I adopted him from a shelter in 2013 when he was 17 weeks old, after losing my previous cat, who was only 5 and the sweetest animal I never knew, to a vaccine associated sarcoma. My current cat, Murphy, a short haired domestic who is neutered and has had...
He loves cats. In fact, he has five of his own. Plus, he is a great vet. Initially, he advised me to put Murphy on flower essences and change his diet per the Chinese medicine model, which I did. But if that didn't work, he felt that a cat that bites to the extent that my mom and I wound up in...
Thanks, EmandJee. Interestingly, Murphy no longer bites me. But he does bite my parents when they come to visit. Ironically, Lily bit Murphy not long after I got her, and he got a really severe infection that required a vet visit. Perhaps he's learned his lesson.
I posted here last year because I had a cat that had to be euthanized due to a vaccine-associated sarcoma. He was only 5, and the sweetest, most loving cat I ever knew. This was the most painful experience of my life.
I soon adopted another kitten that I named Murphy from a shelter who was 4...
Thanks for your reply. His vet identified this as play aggression. Except for the time he bit my mom, the attacks are totally unprovoked. I will be sitting at my desk or walking through the house, and he just goes for my legs.
Anyway, I just spoke to the vet tech, and we are going to get him a...
I adopted my beautiful cat, who just turned 1, from a shelter when he was 4 months old. I had just lost a 5-year-old cat to a vaccine-associated sarcoma, and was devastated.
Meanwhile, my new kitty adjusted very well to his new home, and has an adorable personality, plus is usually sweet...
Our vet recommended Probiocin. It's very good, and it's not expensive. You can get it on Amazon for a lot less than vest charge. It's an easy to administer gel that you can smear on their lips. Good luck.
Flower essences. Check out Bach Flower Remedies. Jackson Galaxy, the star of "My Cat From Hell," also puts out a line especially for cats called Spirit Essences. Hope this helps.
After losing my 5-year-old who was the love of my life to vaccine-associated sarcoma back in June, I just adopted a 12-week-old kitten. He was very friendly when I first met him in the shelter. I am confining him to my bedroom for now. I put all of his supplies in there, and have a plexiglass...
