    Cat Vs. Dog Nutrition

Hi, all, I'm a long time lurker of this forum and know you guys can help me out with this. My beloved Sam crossed over onto the Rainbow Bridge a couple weeks ago and my husband and I miss him terribly. :rbheart: His entire life he suffered from IBD and I had to watch his diet like a hawk. I...

Thank you, crystal. I just want the pain to stop. It's unbearable. Today is my first day back at work and I'm just praying I can make it thru.

Dealing with feelings of guilt and questioning my choice- please help :(

I'm so sorry to hear about your Alex. Those feelings so sound similar to what I'm experiencing- when you said you felt Alex enjoyed for than he suffered- that part is so difficult for me. Sam wasn't sick all the time, maybe only half. I cling to those times he was well and I think it fuels my...

Dealing with feelings of guilt and questioning my choice- please help :(

Thank you so much. The part I struggle so much with is the lack of closure. All I really wish someone had ever said to me was "this is what it was, and there was nothing you could have done." I feel guilty that he maybe COULD have pulled thru and we could have gotten a proper diagnosis and...

Dealing with feelings of guilt and questioning my choice- please help :(

Hi, everyone. I'm a lurker here for the most part but I really need someone to talk to. Wednesday night we had to put my best friend, my world, Sam down. It was a choice we made and I am in such unbearable pain from the loss and guilt. He was 13. Background: Sam had digestive issues from an...

    Fancy Feast Appetizers-Fish concerns

Sam is on a raw only diet (Rad Cat turkey) but has recently become bored with the same thing over and over. He LOVES FF Appetizers, and I've found if I mix a little of the appetizer into each portion of his Rad Cat he eats MUCH more and is much more interested (he's underweight so can't afford...

    Raw food and diluted urine

I believe they did a strip test for the urinalysis. What values in terms of phosphorus am I looking to stay under when I am looking at labels? I found one site saying Rad Cat was very high in phosphorus, but that was dated 2010 and it's been said RC has changed their formula since then. I'm...

    Raw food and diluted urine

I was under the impression he was just getting a general urinalysis. His report says they did the bilirubin, glucose, Ketone, occult blood, ph, protein, and urobilinogen tests on his urine. All within normal ranges but a side note saying color is more diluted than normal. I have mentioned the...

Thanks, LDG. I cross posted my same post here, too. :)

    Raw food and diluted urine

His BUN is slightly elevated but within normal ranges, just like you said. I know he did drink a bunch of water right before we left for the vet. It's odd because his litter box ammonia smell is SO strong, to the point where at times it makes my eyes water (with daily cleanings). So I was a...

    Raw food and diluted urine

Hi all! My Sam just came back from his checkup with everything good... Doc said that his urine is a bit more diluted than she'd like to see, but it was just "noteworthy" and something they will watch for that may indicate future potential kidney issues. His bloodwork was all normal. Is this a...

    Prozyme dosage question

LOL thanks, guys! I have just been sprinkling some on each meal, hoping I'm using enough to be effective. They really should put cat dosages on the bottle, too. Unless someone here feeds their feline a cup of wet food at a time. :lol3:

Successful transition to raw!! Couple ?'s re: commercial food

Thanks, Lisa, I'm definitely going to ask the pet market if they can order in some Primal. Does Primal sell online as well? If I recall, I didn't think they do.

    Prozyme dosage question

I just picked Sam up a bottle of Prozyme digestive enzyme powder to sprinkle on his food today. The bottle says 1/2 tsp per one cup of food..... He gets 2 oz raw food 4 times a day. Do I add 1/2 tsp to the 2 oz every time I feed him, or is that a literal per CUP? This shouldn't be this...

Successful transition to raw!! Couple ?'s re: commercial food

Good idea! I may try that down the line here as he gets used to eating raw. I'm always afraid I'm gonna mess something up for him.

Successful transition to raw!! Couple ?'s re: commercial food

Thanks, everyone! I did try the lamb all sorts of ways/combinations, and he just couldn't keep it down and didn't seem interested. Stella and Chewys rabbit isn't going over so hot at the moment either, even after adding some water. I may try that again down the road. Rad Cat for us for now...
