I'm so sorry for what you're going through, it is not an easy journey. I feel lucky that Lily's vet is extremely compassionate and caring. Lily is still with me but its looking like it won't be much longer. This week she has almost fully stopped eating. :( Being on a steroid seemed to help her...
Thank you for sharing this. I'm not sure what our options are yet, but now I'm wondering if radiation is provided as an option if I should be doing it, or sticking to chemo. I'll do whatever I can for Lily, but I would like to try to make her remaining time as comfortable as possible.
Thank you so much for the recommendations. We just got home and she is not a candidate for surgery because the tumor is too large. My heart is broken. Our next appointment will be with an oncologist to see what our other options are. How long did your cat have? I'm so sorry for your loss.
Last Thursday my cat went in for dental surgery and they found a mass under her tongue, after doing a biopsy they diagnosed her with squamous cell carcinoma. I am devastated. She is also not even 9 years old yet.
The vet said that it was local and has no lymphatic invasion, and her best chance...
I am switching my cat to crystal cat litter but stumbled across some articles that list it as being unsafe and would love some other opinions. I know that some forms of silica are extremely unhealthy but I didn't think that form was in the litter.
Does anyone have more information, or have...
I recently purchased an essential oil diffuser and started using it on my office, where my cat often sits with me. I stumbled across an article that said essential oils are bad for cats but all the research I find is about placing the oil right ON the cat. Is it safe to diffuse oil into the air...
Thank you! The bedroom is really tough in general because its very hard for me to keep the other cat out of the room and the two cats have to be seperated.
I volunteer at an animal shelter and recently they asked me to take in a 10 day old kitten to care for. This is the first time I've done this so I'm very nervous, I just want her to be happy and healthy. She's now 15 days old. I've been keeping her in my bathroom because it's the easiest room...
We moved at the end of July, the move was definitely tough on her, is it possible it would still have an effect?
I think you're right, but even no hissing would be great progress. Would you happen to have any recommendations on things you've tried?
People say the same about my cat - though...
I was wondering if it's possible to socialize a cat you've already had for a while? I got Lily when she was 5 months old and she was so scared she didn't come out for the first two weeks I had her. After lots of patience and progress she now trusts me and acts great when I'm the only one around...
I just got a new cat and am having issues with my first cat. I have had my cat for two years and just brought in a new kitty. I have followed everything I've read about keeping them in separate rooms, rubbing a towel on the new cat and giving it to my old cat to smell. Every time my old cat...
That's great progress - I know it seems slow but you are doing great! Have you given her wet food at all? That's generally a great way to get a cat excited and it might get her to come a little closer to you. When you try to pet her just move very slowly toward her and keep your hand in a loose...
