Photobombs, Bloopers and Oopsies! Picture of the Month September 2015

I was trying to take one of my many daily photos of my baby girl for the grandparents...Archer decided at that moment to hop up & give baby girl a kiss:) At least it's a cute oopsie photobomb;) And I just have to say how proud I am of him with being so patient & gentle with her, even when she...

"What? I meant to do that!"

Oh no, not Archer! He's definitely one of those kitties that can never do any wrong & regrets nothing, haha ;)

"What? I meant to do that!"

Archer plays with his brand new Cosmic Catnip Banana & falls off the couch (had to give it to him right out of the box!)...in pure kitty fashion he walks away very nonchalantly as if that's what he'd planned to do all along! :lol3:

Kitten steeps toy in water dish...normal?

One of our foster kittens did this but she took it to a new extreme...she made herself some catnip tea!  I'd made the kittens some catnip stuffed toys (which they all went crazy for, btw!) and at some point one night she took it and dropped it into her water dish.  I got up the next morning to...

Babble Away to win prizes! We have a winner!

My youngest cat, Hugo, has been super affectionate these past couple of days.  I'm loving it cuz I haven't been feeling great.  I think it's wonderful how they sometimes seem to just know when their humans need a little extra attention On another note, our rescue is having our regular adoption...

Babble Away to win prizes! We have a winner!

Mani, I'm in Hawaii, so even though you're technically almost a full day ahead of me we're still awake here right now.  Plus I have horrible insomnia, so I'm normally up all hours anyway:(  By the way, my hubby plays World of Warcraft & his group that he plays with are based out of Australia  ...

    Weird household objects as toys

Yep, he's at Schofield.  We're not very impressed because it all looks, and is, so run down.  Hickam AFB, on the other hand, is very nice & well kept.  My parents were actually stationed at Hickam over 30 years ago & my brother was born here, so I've had to go and take pictures of places that...

    This Kitty needs a home

Have you checked to see if she has a microchip or ID tattoo?  I'm assuming that she didn't have a collar?  If you think she is someone's lost pet please try to find her owners before trying to get someone else to adopt her.  If she's healthy and friendly, without fear of people, then the chances...

    Cat-related Pet Peeves - let's vent!

I can totally relate to the "easy open" cardboard packaging on the litter boxes!  I broke one of my nails trying to open a box of Fresh Step one day & it hurt!  Luckily I don't have to deal with that anymore as I've switched to the Petco brand due to the dust issue from the Fresh Step. Which...

Does anyone else have a cat with a smooth tongue?

One of the foster kittens, a beautiful little calico with tabby stripes, that I have right now has a smooth tongue.  She's a licker, so you definitely notice, especially when she decides to try to lick your face!  I thought that it was kind of strange, so it's nice to hear that there are other...

    Weird household objects as toys

Our oldest, Archer, is in love with the shirts my husband wears under his Army uniform.  It's one of those Under Armor type shirts, and being in Hawaii, it tends to be rather fragrant by the time he gets home at the end of the day.   Archer sits in front of him and waits for him to change out...

Our adopted bengel/tabby is having problems

For the vomiting problem it may be that he's eating too quickly.  You may want to try a trick I read about here somewhere to put a golf ball in his food bowl.  It forces them to slow down their eating because they have to eat around the golf ball.  However, like stephanietx said it could be from...

Is Shadow a Bob cat or a Korat cat?

The bobbed/short tail and kinked tails are very common here in Hawaii.  I've been told that a lot of times it's from inbreeding in the population.  It's so cute though & one of our boys, Hugo, has a short tail which he wags like a dog:)  In Hugo's tail all of the tail bones are there (you can...

    Litter that's TOO attractive?

If you have room, you may want to get a second box and put it right beside the one that's used the most often.  That way if JohnnyMac tries to hop in with the older kittens you can just pick him up and put him right into the second one.  Eventually he'll get the idea and jump into the second one...

    Litter that's TOO attractive?

Does this answer your question? I don't think I'd worry too much about kittens hopping in together occasionally as long as they're not getting in each others way, though it can make things a big more messy as evidenced by the photo here (litter kicked out of the box & also onto the tail of the...

    Litter that's TOO attractive?

I think it's just a kitten thing for them to play and lay in the litter box.  Probably about half of the foster kittens we've had thus far have played in, rolled around in and even slept in a litter box (we also use regular clay litter, so I wonder if you're right about it being a texture...
