Must take semi-feral with me. Help!

You can do it, Linda! I love that your dog walks with her, that is so sweet! Humans could really learn a thing (or 10) from animals. I stayed for my girl, too, but I had to move from there and couldn't imagine not having her with me. She just refused to come into the last place but with the...

Personalty change / reset button in 3-cat intro?

Also, do I just start the intro process from scratch? Is it like a reboot for them? Gabby likes to look in the windows to see what's going on, but when Travis does it, it's to menace Mute!  I really don't understand why Travis went from getting along with everyone, to becoming a bully.

Personalty change / reset button in 3-cat intro?

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to get some advice. I read the article about cat introductions and wanted to follow up here for help.  I have a semi-feral (spayed from a previous resident doing a TNR) that adopted me a little over 9 years ago. She is 12 now. I fed, sheltered, played, petted her, etc...

Getting a feral used to humans

Are you able to dedicate at least one half hour per day to concentrate only on playing with her/engaging her? Sounds like she's a bit bored. Cats can hear/see/sense things we can't, sometimes this causes them to run around wildly. Kika looks  young, so it could be just getting bursts of energy...

Must take semi-feral with me. Help!

Thanks, everyone! Mute is doing stellar! She used the litter box immediately which blew my mind! Sally, she's actually a feral, she and her brothers (they both died :O( ) were born in our alley, but I didn't live there then. We got moved, I am trying to unpack...she didn't do a 180 and revert to...

Must take semi-feral with me. Help!

Hi, everyone! I wanted to post an update. I'm moving the morning of Nov. 11th (actually, in a few hours here in Chicago!) and I successfully trapped Mute Friday night with a trap I rented from the Tree House of Chicago. It's a $65 deposit that they just hold on to in the event one does not...

So I got drunk one night and woke up next to.....

One thing about taking a cat out on a harness, although they are "tethered" and don't have the strength to break away like dogs can, is that when they are walking around, sniffing and/or eating grass - it is a strong possibility that if there are stray or feral cats in the same area, one or more...

Sorry about the repeat posts - submit didn't return me to the thread so I thought it didn't "take"!

So I got drunk one night and woke up next to.....

She's beautiful! You really shouldn't let her out, a harness is a great idea. You might get a butt kicking the first time you try to put her in it, though! ;O) Good luck with her, she's lovely and likely will continue to have suitors even after she's spayed. My Emma (RIP) always had boys looking...

    somebody help me... HELP

Thank you so much, jcribbs! I can't tell you how happy I am to have found you guys. Like I said, I'm in the process of moving, and have my outside girl to figure out. Once the move is complete, I hope to be very active in the forum, and especially hope to have great news about my girl to share! :O)

Getting a feral used to humans

This is excellent progress! It's a long, slow road. You might want to spray some Feliway on her blanket before you put her in the box. I sound like a spokesperson but I'm not :O) I just have seen firsthand how well it works.  It's too bad you have to travel with her, but you have to. I think...

Getting a feral used to humans

Reiten, it is going to take some serious time and patience and it's great that you are working from home. I agree with the posts here, and Feralvr really knows her stuff, she gave me great information.  Are you able to close the door to the BR where she gets under the bed? If you are working...

Must take semi-feral with me. Help!

Thank you so, so very much! You have no idea how much you've calmed my nerves. I'm new and want to tell you folks how relieved and grateful I am that I found you! It was a long road, but I got here.  One thing I can do is rent a trap from Tree House, but my concern is that she is so smart, she...

Must take semi-feral with me. Help!

There is a semi-feral that adopted me. She had two brothers who passed away. I have been caring for them (and now just her) for 9 years. I am moving and need to take her with me. I want to make her an inside cat. I need advice on trapping her. I read this thread and it made perfect...
