Can we "start over" with training our cats when we move?

We are very likely moving to a new (bigger) place within the next couple months. I'm not so worried about the actual moving process as we've had good luck with Feliway in the past. What I'm interested in is somewhat re-training our cats when we move. Currently the cats have free reign of our...

    New Tidy Cats Light Litter

Thanks, Willowy! So good to hear from someone who has finally tried it. Any update on the odor control? And do you think it was worth the price? I haven't tried it, but feel like it's probably not. There are so many other "light" litters out there that are cheaper.

    New Tidy Cats Light Litter

Hmmmf. I checked Sams Club website for my local store and they don't have it either. Just the Glade stuff...which is $13.84 for a 2-pack, so yeah, this new stuff does seem quite a bit more pricey :(  But I'm glad someone has seen it. I'm sure it will make its way to my area eventually.

    New Tidy Cats Light Litter

There's apparently a new litter from Tidy Cats called Tidy Cats Light. Has anyone seen this stuff in stores yet? It said on the website that it was to be released in September. Now that is gone and instead it has a place to enter your zip code and see where it can be purchased in your area. I...

I just ordered some raw food...

Thanks for all the replies :) I promise I did read them - I just now realized how rude I'd been in not even replying to say thanks! I put some of the mouse down for the kitties to try the day after it came in the mail. It was in the smallest package and was already starting to thaw so I picked...

I just ordered some raw food...

I'm at a good place in my life where I feel like I have the time/energy to devote to switching my kitties to raw. I just ordered some stuff. Kind of randomly. I promise I won't just plop it onto a plate for my cats without doing the proper research, but at least now I'll have it in my...

    Vaccinations

Because of advice I received, online and in person, here and elsewhere, I decided not to get my kitties re-vaccinated after their initial rabies/distemper and all that. I'm still totally okay with this decision. But I was maybe a little naive, because I didn't think how this would affect me...

    Yummy Finger!

So glad to find this post! My 2 year old cat JUST NOW started doing this to my fingers! He starts out by licking my finger tips and fingernails very thoroughly, then moving on to the chewing. Just like you say, it's more of a gumming than actual chewing. Sometimes I do get caught by his back...

    Weight Difference Between Littermates

Just weighed the boys tonight and just to update...they're something like 9 months old now and Leo weighs in at 6 pounds and Clarkson is 14 pounds. Holy geesh lol. Clarkson is by far the biggest of our 5 cats, and he's not overweight at all, just...well...HUGE!

    Feliway

One of my cats in particular was very aggressive towards 2 new kittens we brought home this past summer. Within a couple of days of the feliway, her attitude towards the kittens had just completely changed. It mellowed out the other cats too, but had a huge effect on River for sure. Once she was...

My cat gets beat up when I'm not home?!

They came from the shelter so they were neutered loooong before we even got them. I just hate seeing him all beat up like this. At this point, he has 3 wounds on his face/head in various states of healing. And I also wonder who could be doing this to him and why. He is a thumbed polydactyl tho...

My cat gets beat up when I'm not home?!

We adopted 2 kittens in August. They're about 5 months old now. About a month ago, I came home and noticed a small wound on Clarkson's face...like he had been scratched by one of the other cars. It was odd because none of our cats have ever fought. Sure, they play fight from time to time, but...

    Kitten Sleeping in Litter Box

I love TCS :-D I realize this thread is really old, but I did a search for kitties sleeping in litter boxes because my 5-month old kitten started just hanging out/sleeping in his litter box. Tonight was the first time I'd seen him do it. I took him out, cuddled with him for a good long while...

Throwing up - when to be concerned

We adopted Leo and Clarkson in the beginning of August at 12 weeks. I guess that makes them over 5 months old now. Leo is our first ever sensitive-tummy kitty. When we first brought them home, he had the most trouble transitioning to the new wet food and was frequently throwing up. Now that he's...

Just got a new kitten and i need help!!

I agree with the advice about trying a couple different kinds of litter boxes (different sizes, shapes, covered vs uncovered) and different brands of litter to see how she does. Truthfully, I think she'll grow out of it as she gets older, but for now, if you can find a kind of litter that she...

Help our Cat cope with the many big changes in her near future

If you do decide to adopt the kitten, I recommend bring both him and Emily into the new apartment at the same time. That way the apartment won't "belong" to anyone yet and neither of them should be too territorial with it. And since you already have the feliway going...I mean...sounds like as...
