After watching my outdoor feral turned resident kitty devour a mouse from tip to tail this morning, I solidified my inkling to start my cats on raw today.
I do have a question about how long the raw meat can be left out of the fridge and do you repeatedly put it from fridge to cat for meals...
About 2 months ago I took in a feral cat who needed emergency surgery. Since then, Sadie, has become a very sweet and affectionate boy (long story very short lol). He was previously TNR'd.
I have 2x5 year old spayed female kitties and they are not at all happy with this newcomer to the house...
My recent (2 months ago) outdoor feral cat has become a beloved indoor social cat - amazing transformation!
Sadie has been vetted, dewormed, and Advantaged. He was worm, flea and mite free at his vet check (also had a tail amputation).
The problem is that despite all this, he is continually...
I wanted to Advanatge flea treat my feral cat today and as he leaned down to eat a pile of treats I lightning speed squirted the tube of meds onto the back of his skull. I would not have been able to part the fur to do this.
Will it still work??
I am fostering a feral mama and her 4 newborn kittens.
I have them in a cat carrier, which is inside a large veri-kennel. The system works pretty good, it's just that the *smell* chokes the back of my throat like a vice grip.
If it does that to me, I can just imagine how the kitties feel...
I got my new feral mama + family to foster this afternoon :)
There are 4 kittens, whom were born yesterday = 2 orange tabbies and 2 gray tabbies.
They are SO sweet!
The mother is absolutely beautiful.
I get to name the kittens - their names must start with K.
Any ideas?
I have them in...
I am going to be fostering a semi-feral mama and her newborn 4 tabby kittens tomorrow So excited! But, the shelter has warned me that the mom comes with some issues. She will not use the litter box and frequently will poo in her bed and lie in it, making cleanup of the growling protective...
A lot of threads discuss issues relating to mama cats who are weaning their kittens and how the mamas can be helped.
I have raised +/- hundreds of kittens and one thing that has worked wonders is cutting the foot off of a snug (not tight) tube sock and slipping it onto the mama's belly. It...
Hi Everyone,
I posted Sadie's story a few days ago (in a nutshell: feeding feral outside for past 8 months, would come when called but wouldn't get too close. Kitty was attacked by something about 12 days ago, I got him live trapped and vetted and tail amputated) Sadie was previously TNR'd...
Sadie came to my home last summer (2011) and quickly decided that there was a good thing going on here. I began to feed her regularly, morning and evening with yummy foods and I set up an insulated/heated shelter in my backyard for her. She stayed in my fenced backyard almost 24/7. My dog...
